Save the Corvi🐦‍⬛

Hey everyone! Wanted to share a quick rescue story.

A couple of days ago, I found this helpless hooded crow fledgling (Corvus cornix) near a busy metro station in Kyiv. His left wing was completely limp and dragging on the asphalt. I couldn't just walk past and leave him to die.

We named him Korvi. After a night of safety and some wet cat food, he started trusting me, cawing for food, and showing his amazing, intelligent personality.

Yesterday we visited a specialized avian vet. X-rays showed a severe oblique fracture of the humerus. Leaving it to heal on its own would mean constant pain, so he just underwent surgery (intramedullary pinning) under gas anesthesia.

The surgery went well, and the pin is in place! Korvi is now resting in a dark, cozy box for the next 3 weeks of strict box rest.

As a student, the medical bills (the surgery itself, future control X-rays, and pin removal in a month) are quite a heavy financial hit for my budget (around $200 total). I’m doing everything I can, but if anyone would like to support Korvi’s recovery fund via PayPal, please feel free to PM me for details.

Even if you can't donate, your kind words, upvotes, and advice on corvid rehabilitation mean the world to us!🫶🫶
