I'm making a psychological thriller inspired by a real story — and I'd really love your honest feedback

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm an indie developer currently working on a narrative-driven psychological thriller with RPG elements.

The game is set around a group of teenagers whose lives gradually become connected through friendships, conflicts, secrets and traumatic events.

What starts out relatively normal slowly becomes much darker.

One important thing about this project is that the story is inspired by real events. I've changed names, details and circumstances, but the emotional core comes from something that actually happened.

That's also one of the reasons I'm trying to treat the story seriously rather than turning it into a simple "dark" game.

The game will feature :

🧠 Psychological storytelling and trauma

🗺️ An explorable map rather than a completely linear story

💬 Choices and relationships that can affect events

❤️ Different relationship paths

🔎 Side quests and optional character stories

🎭 Multiple perspectives and playable characters

🩸 Darker themes and consequences

🔀 Different possible endings

I'm still developing it, so I'm not here to pretend it's perfect or finished.

Quite the opposite — I'm posting because I genuinely want criticism.

I'd especially love to hear from people who play narrative/psychological indie games :

What would immediately make you interested in playing something like this?

And what would make you lose interest?

Do you think the combination of psychological thriller + relationship system + multiple playable characters sounds interesting, or does it risk becoming too complicated?

If you saw the screenshots/GIFs I've attached, what would you improve about the visual style or presentation?

Even harsh criticism is welcome.

I'd much rather hear "this doesn't work because..." than only receive compliments.

I'm still a small developer trying to build something meaningful, and any advice, criticism or even a little encouragement would honestly mean a lot. ❤️

If anyone is interested, I'd also be happy to share more about the characters, story, mechanics or development process in the comments.

Thanks for reading!
