My Creator Resume
All right, let's get into it.
Apart from the fact that I have essentially made a hobby out of reading and rereading threads here about topics that scratch my brain just right, my main reason for being on Reddit is to try and build an audience for my gaming projects (not in the whiny/stalker way, just in the "put it out there with faith and wait" way) - people who play and perhaps get invested in the story or something. I am not looking for an echo chamber or money (all my games are free), so as long as you publicize your opinion, feel free to go FERAL with the red Sharpie if that makes it fun for you! I just want the knowledge of my work to spread as much as possible.
Said projects take the form of visual novels made with the Ren'Py engine (I aim to explore Unity down the line though). I always loved the idea of reading stories with the characters on screen as if they are performing a play, which is what drew me to visual novels, and I have always wanted to create them, but lacked the resources until recently. I also wanted to just add more free visual novels to the genre because I feel there can never be enough of them.
I'm a solodev, so I do everything myself (art, writing, effects, music, etc). This is why none of my games have voice acting in their initial release (I may consider adding voice work to them in later updates), why the art style (basically what can be described as an anime-influenced, intentionally distorted Western cartoon) is divisive, and why the games are always free to play no matter what.
I take pride in my creations enough to post them everywhere, but I have no delusions of grandeur. I can scream into the void all I want about my solo work but it is most likely never to find mainstream/paid success due to the amount of creative freedom I take. Down the line, however, I aim to try and join an active gamedev team who could use just one aspect of my abilities that they like best for the work, and just be part of the "staff credits" I guess - and that is the only circumstance in which I would want to be paid.
As for my works themselves, the attached table has the first five of thirteen queued solo projects listed. As stated before, they are all free to play as HTML5 web builds, meaning they can be accessed straight from a browser (some with a login feature that saves the trophies earned to a GameJolt profile).
If this looks interesting, I hope you take the time to check it out using the links on my profile! In the meantime, I may just fall back mostly till I hit the 30 day mark before I make any big moves like self-promo attempts in communities. Feel free to ask any questions you like below!
