[Interested] in relocating to Tennessee from Southern Delaware

My husband and I are looking to relocate to Tennessee from Southern Delaware due to the influx of Northerners and the changing of the slow living lifestyle that we love. Please be nice HAHA! Rest assured we are not your Northerner Yankees/Yuppies. We are very much Conservative/Republican leaning country way of living folks. Ive outlined the area that we've been looking into along the middle-south on through to the south-east region of TN near AL as my husband would need to be within 1.5 hours from the major hub city areas for work. We thought about West TN, but the distance to Nashville/Chattanooga was a bit of a stretch as well as the distance to travel back up to DE to visit some family. We are planning a trip in August to tour some areas of interest in TN to see if the fit is right and would like some local Tennessean input.

  • What are some nice towns to raise a family that are safe with good schools and decent internet?
  • Towns within at least 30min-1hour for decent primary and other decent healthcare
  • Towns within reasonable distance to shops/major retailers, local homemade ice cream, parks, etc.
  • Local fun annual festivals or any other events including Halloween and Christmas? (We are big into both)
  • Any local kids programs like summer camp, etc?
  • Local ranches/farms with produce and other goodies?
  • Local auctions for livestock or the like?
  • Local non-chain businesses and restaurants?
  • What would you say the crime is like in these areas?

We are open to any and ALL other insight that you have to add. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
