
Is This a New Scam in Jodhpur? Hotel Rejected My Confirmed Agoda Booking and Asked for Cash
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share what happened during my recent trip to Jodhpur and see if anyone else has had a similar experience.
I booked a room at Madhav Palace through Agoda for 27 June. The booking was confirmed and non-refundable. However, when I reached the hotel, the staff refused to honor my reservation. They told me they were not accepting online bookings and said that if I wanted a room, I would have to pay ₹1,800 in cash.
What I don't understand is this: if the hotel doesn't accept online bookings, why are they still listed on Agoda and allowing people to make confirmed reservations?
Because my booking was non-refundable, I lost my money and was left without the room I had already paid for. It was a very stressful experience after a long journey.
Has anyone else faced something similar with this hotel or with any other hotel in Jodhpur? Were you able to get a refund from Agoda or resolve the issue?
I'm sharing this to warn other travelers so they can avoid the same situation.
