The Last of RAM — a fast-paced absurd FPS about stealing RAM in an AI-dominated future

Hi everyone!

I’d like to introduce my project, which is currently in early development.

Wishlist The Last of RAM on Steam

It’s a fast-paced FPS shooter. For the movement style, we took inspiration from Ghostrunner and Severed Steel, but instead of going for a serious and brutal tone, we decided to push everything into full absurdity.

The game will be filled with funny interactive objects, weird situations, and meme-driven moments.

The story takes place in a fictional universe similar to ours, somewhere in the near future, where AI has become even bigger, and RAM prices have completely gone “to the moon”, straight into meme coin territory.

The main character is a migrant from some Slavic country, or something like that. Actually, he doesn’t even have documents, so who really knows. Some undocumented guy, probably. But who are we to judge? The important thing is that he loves computer games. Basically, he is a hardcore gamer.

Things are not going very well for him when it comes to work. But even skyrocketing RAM prices, caused by endless data center expansion and unemployment, will not kill his dream of building his own gaming setup.

He lives in an old, forgotten-by-God apartment, which he has been fixing up and decorating for years, trying to make it feel like home, like something from his childhood.

So, at some point, he decides to “borrow” (steal) some RAM from a house that happens to be white in color. After all, modern politicians are basically puppets anyway, and all real decisions are now made by ChatGPT. The president’s office is always empty, because he is busy with more important things in the Middle East.

The player will have to sneak through underground labyrinths protected by AI-controlled robotic security. Although, to be fair, these robots still can’t properly solve a captcha, so what can they really do against our fast-moving hero?

Along the way, he will face many problems, enemies, and absurd situations, but he will complete his goal.

Only later will he find out at what cost.
