Over the past several months, I experienced and witnessed racism, physical aggression, and bullying on the UCF RWC basketball courts. I reported it because I wanted the behavior to stop and be documented and addressed properly but Instead, I felt ignored and repeatedly dismissed. My original email went unanswered for about a week and some days. I had to follow up multiple times just to receive a response, and even then my main question about whether I could record for my own safety and documentation was repeatedly and blatantly ignored until I directly pointed out that they were ignoring my question.
In my opinion, UCF’s approach protects the privacy of racist students and physically violent students more than it protects the students who are victims of such behavior and I STRONGLY disagree with that approach. I believe this type of behavior SHOULD, without a shadow of a doubt, be recorded and publicized. I believe racism, physical harassment, and verbal harassment should be exposed, documented, and addressed publicly instead of being handled in a way that makes it harder to identify repeat offenders. If people know their actions can be documented and reported with evidence, I believe it would discourage this behavior on a larger scale and help protect other students from becoming victims of this terrible behavior.
Reporting the issue placed more of a burden on me than on the racist and violent people causing the problems. Options offered to me was to have staff follow me around or assign someone to play with me. Those options made me extremely uncomfortable because I felt like I was the one who had to change how I used the RWC because of other people’s antagonistic behavior.
I’ve attached screenshots of some of the emails . . I edited out my name, the names of UCF employees, profile pictures, initials, and other identifying information for privacy reasons. I also added labels to make it clear who is talking between me and UCF administration. I didn’t add every screenshot of the emails because there were too many to include in one post. Many of the emails were repetitive because I had to repeatedly follow up after my question about recording was ignored, and in the end I STILL was not provided the link to whatever policy prohibits me from recording bullying and harassment at the RWC. Some screenshots may seem to jump from one topic to another because I left out repetitive emails but no important context was intentionally omitted.

hey so i was just wondering... I get bright futures 75% and another scholarship. I'm wondering if I pay all of my tuition and fees before that scholarship money gets disbursed, will the scholarship money be refunded into my bank account since I already paid everything? Or do they take it back? (my parents to pay so I can keep my scholarship)
I just graduated in the Spring, and will come back in the fall to pursue a Masters (political science). And, when I saw the post that said ''LIBTECH CLOSING''. I was shocked. But, looking back on it, a lot led to this. Especially with preeminence funding, Tallahassee decided to give the shit to FSU, and UF. Destroying funding routes to UCF. Spoke to a professor of mine yesterday, and he said that whole departments are closing, and professors are being laid off. LIBTECH's destruction, along with CMC Library, and Downtown Library are just the tip of the iceberg. UCF, is changing for the worse. Preeminence, is the status of ''elite'' that UCF worked towards, emphasizing graduation after four years and whatnot. Preeminence would have gotten us more funding, not massively less funding.
Something that enrages me; other than of course Cartwright destroying the arboretum for his precious football team (to suck again no matter how much money the administration reorganizes for them, thanks a whole bunch Scotty boy), and taking a million dollar raise. Is that only 1 or 2 organizations are holding a monopoly over these concerns. I think every student should be enraged about this, and should hold protests. Yet, it's only a single group or two, not focusing on the Cartwright issue but also connecting it to a whole litany of other things that it's not connected to at all.
Keep the Cartwright issue the issue. Not diverge from the issue, and trying to connect it to a whole bunch of political stuff it doesn't have to do with at all.
I'm an international student, so I'm not used to the sound of gunfire. I keep hearing this gunshot-like sound near Hercules community—is it really gunfire? I haven't received any alerts or anything, so it's a little scary.🥺
Why would UCF even cut away Libtech? Like, out of everything, they chose Libtech? Increase the rent, tuition for international students, and COB receives 50 mil from an alum, and they cut Libtech. Libtech saved my life, feed me and gave me a job. RIP, f in the chat for Libtech
Trying to roll up a funny paper. If anyone is on campus and could help; I would love that. Hope this post isn’t excessive. Serious inquiries only plz.
Hey guys! I’m going on a vacay to New york in September. Give me some places i should visit or things i should do!
After seeing posts like this https://www.reddit.com/r/ucf/s/sEpZmzJA3n and others like it about libtech and reading comments on how UCF isn’t like it used to be not just for students but also staff. I’m wondering if my psych degree will be worth it when I graduate in 2028. I plan to get my Master’s degree at a university out of state but not so sure if it’ll even be worth it now 🥲.
A few hundred of us showed up for the milk maniac last year, we should show up and fight for an actually useful service
Hi, I am freshman that started this summer as a Computer Engineering pending major.
Engineering has always been my plan, but from how things are looking, i’m considering maybe going into medical school after I graduate. I just want to figure things out before it’s too late to change degrees.
Is there a way that I can pursue pre-med while in this degree? I know if you minor in bioengineering, it counts towards pre-med. However, I don’t know if these classes would cover or count as my electives.
I need my classes to be covered by my bright futures (100% for 120 credits). I already have around 80 credits done towards a general A.A degree, so maybe some of those excess credits can be towards those classes?
If anyone has any advice or has gone through a similar path please lmk!
I am transferring over to UCF this fall, my orientation is not until July 22nd. Ive just been looking around the Audit and Pegasus Path and checking out all this stuff since my previous school had absolutely nothing like it. I am looking at classes I may need to take this semester, and it says they are all closed with very long waitlists. Probably a stupid question, since I assume they hold spots for people like me, but is there even space for me to get classes at this point?
I see like everyone here saying they got theirs but I still haven't gotten mine and I know I did the score send from collegeboard 😭 😭
I finished the whole pre orientation except for the ECE form but that shouldn't be a difference maker right?
Edit: I've already checked the myUCF portal for them under the credit transfer section and the app document status
