Need Some Help Please!

I obtained this Ultimaker 3 Extended from a surplus auction for $100. I am new to 3D printing so I really need some help. I was trying to just test this to make sure it works and this happens when I try to just send it home. I went to the error message on the Ultimaker site but I still can’t seem to figure out what I’m doing or not doing.

Print Core Blob o’ Death - Soldering time?

Hello! An old S3 fell into my lap with a couple of rolls of 2.85mm PETG and I’ve enjoyed making some functional prints, a couple of which were on the larger side. On my last of these, I got an overnight mega Blob of Death on a large print and pulled too many things apart.

Does anybody know if I can resurrect this print core? Or maybe at least get the printer to limping?

I only have the two cores, both AA 0.4. I can't justify buying a replacement and I have a few rolls of 2.85mm filament that I don't want to just chuck.

Thank you for any help or advice!!

S3 wider line at start of each layer - heat creep ?

It is a layout jig so need accuracy - long and thin - the 3mm wide splines are coming out at 3.5 then 3.4 down to 3.0. Changed everything - glass, cores, 1 / 2 sides. AA 0.4 , Cura latest , UM PLA. It seems to be heat creep whilst the head is travelling all the way back to the start maybe ?

The skirt prints wider for the first 5cm or so. So once the skirt is finished it is the main print which prints wider. Hence the added 0.5mm.

Or is the machine just getting old ?

( the prints are stopped after a few layers to show the wider line width - should be 3mm thick , 3mm square actually. The little blobs are small infill areas - I got rid of them in the gcode, I thought maybe the lingering was causing heat creep, but didn't fix the problem )

Help with S5

Picked up an S5 that was listed as no boot. Plug it in and you can hear the powersupply click on but then nothing else. I pulled the bottom cover off and started digging. I think I have it narrowed down to the Olimex board having a faulty HDMI port. When you turn the power on all the indicator lights on the mainboard seem dim and there is no response with any of the hardware. IF i unplug the HDMI cable from the board or the UI the indicator lights brighten up and it starts to go through start up. LED's kick on, hot end indicator lights start up ect. Tested the cable itself its fine tried to use a different display and I don't get anything to come up. Now I'm hoping someone may have had something similar happen or can point me in a direction. I may just have to replace the Olimex board which won't be fun but its doable as long as i can flash the correct firmware on the new board.
