If you can change one thing about this series what would it be and why?

Big respect to uru (I think that’s the authors name) gave me the fondest memories when I was reading this series for a while.

Obviously if you’re talking about smth from recent chapters or major moments use spoiler tags.

If there was one thing I could change it would be cutting down John’s tyrant arc because what came after it was impactful storytelling. Seeking forgiveness after having immense guilt is hard enough but especially when it’s from those who will never forgive you back. It just took a while to get there and the chapters prior up to it when he took over the school was conveying the same idea in different ways when we get the point. It got redundant after a while. Fight me on that.

Prediction for 389

If left off on Seraphina (orrin) and John being inside the barrier, The only possible way for Seraphina to break the Barrier is by knocking out John because she wouldn't be able to break it without using a lot of rewinding on herself to whiter away at the Barrier untill it breaks (she doesn't currently have enough power to shatter it in one go)

I suspect that Orrin puppetering is a bit reliant on Aura usage the longer he controlling them and using their ability for a long period of time would drain him making him lose control of them (one of his followers might have an ability the Amp's one stat and they had to amply Orrin Trick so he could control Seraphina for longer)

After this Arc I feel John is going to level up (reasoning for why is because John Is in a live threating scenario which has been shown to level up ability to push past it previous limits) I don't know what level he will be but since this kit he has is one of strongest one I guess he might be a 7.8 or 7.9

Best combination for John regarding fighting against EMBER

By taking the consideration of EMBER'S traits and specialities, I came to the conclusion that there are abilities that John could copy to show the similiar traits of EMBER. EMBER agents usually have regeneration, flaming claws and exceptional speed. these traits can be taken from the very abilities that John had previously copied from users who had such abilities or the abilities that he would copy in the future. The following down there are the combinations and explainations of those combined abilities.

Combination 1:

  1. Meili's Claw

  2. Remi's lightning

  3. Zeke's shifting

  4. Tanner's Regeneration

To my perspective, This combination shows quite the match for the specialities of EMBER. Just the difference is it could only develop lightning claw rather than flames. So ig that'd be more useful for John in this case. Plus, Lightning could help him speed up even more and with Zeke's shifting ability, it could be much easier to tackle God-tier/High-tier EMBER agents. Even if John got injured, He could use Tanner's regeneration to fix the wound. There was a chapter where Tanner's regeneration came in handy to fix his broken wrist.

Combination 2:

  1. Isen's predator form

  2. Blyke's energy beam

  3. Jaxson's Umbra Shift

  4. Brims' Botanist.

The second combination seems to be more useful than the first one. Isen's predator form would bring enhanced senses and claws for John to deal with EMBER. with Blyke's energy beam to make those claws more effective, there's a chance that he can easily take down EMBER agents very well. But the only issue is with shifting, UMBRA shift could only work if there's a shadow to pass through. Though in nighttimes, John still has an advantage in terms of shifting positions, the only problem that remains is the speed. For regeneration, Brims' Botanist does have it in his sleeve. Plus, Those vines can be very useful to ensnare EMBER agents.

What's your favourite one? Is there any combination which anyone of y'all want to suggest? I am excited to learn that!

I think i found how to calculate the level of john's copied and amped ability of the original user.

First divide the level by 5. In this case, zeke's phase shift 4.2÷5=0.84. Multiply 0.84×1.5=1.26.

Then add 0.84 5 times but insted change one of those numbers to the result 1.26

0.84+0.84+0.84+0.84+1.26=4.62

Basically 4.6

U could multiply 0.84 by 5 and still get 4.2

Ventus level is different in watch episode

3.8 to 3.6

Is funny also mean meli same level

Idk if recon because she made wellton too strong

what annoys me about conversion abilities

Farrah is an average god-tier—not weak by any means, just average compared to the strongest someone like John

From what we've been told, only high-tiers can use converted abilities because they're the only ones capable of generating enough aura output to maintain them. If that's true, then shouldn't prolonged battles be one of their biggest weaknesses? Maintaining four abilities simultaneously sounds like it should drain an enormous amount of aura.

Farrah doesn't seem to have an unusually large aura pool, at least as far as we know. Yet she constantly uses four converted abilities at once, repeatedly activates regeneration, recovers from life-threatening injuries, and even comes back after what looked like a fatal wound. Despite all of that, she never seems to show any signs of running low on aura.

Compare that to John. Even though John's aura pool has been established as exceptionally large compared to other god-tiers, there are multiple times where he visibly looks like he's running out of aura after using relatively basic abilities.

That's what confuses me. If the average converted ability user has a much more ordinary aura supply than John, why do they never seem to experience aura exhaustion despite constantly maintaining multiple converted abilities?

Am I misunderstanding how converted abilities work, or is this just an inconsistency in the writing?

I might have some explanation for some of the issue with the latest chapters, but they might not be the best

1.Kassandra plan

I'll admit I said that I did think that it was dumb, since it probably would've been easier if they just let Sera freeze time or if John copied a teleport ability and teleported behind Orin

But looking back I think I know why they didn't have Sera or John Grab Orin, because for all she knew they could've just grabbed Orin and then ditch them,

She even says in one of the previous chapters "who gets to keep him" also theres that chance that one wrong move and they would've been under Orin's control

2.Sera not using Time freeze to get to Orin and John not teleporting behind him

I understood why John couldn't teleport since some sheild and barrier like abilites appear to block out teleporting

I was confused on why Sera didn't freeze time, but I think there might be some explanations, sheild and barriers abilities might be able to block out time freeze, and even if they can't block out time freeze it appears that if Sera hits something hard enough it might force her out of time freeze

also it might not be possible for Sera to use or stay in her time freeze mid air, but then that leads to the question of why attack from above in the first place

3.why didn't the attacks of 3 God tiers break through Orrin defenses,

I didn't have a problem with this since I think depending on their levels it might be believable that Orins defenses are strong enough to defend against them,

Elite level defense seemed to be effective in groups caused either A the opponent would be forced to spread out their attacks or B they can band together to increase their overall defense,

Then we have the Bubble sheild(s), which is most likely a high tier level abilite(s)

And then we have Orrin himself who's mental ability appeared to be affecting Arlo through his barrier, and so it might be affecting some of the other characters as well making their attacks weaker

now this mainly depends on the levels of the defenses because if it turns out all of the sheilds Surrounding Orrin we're just elite level, then I can't really defend this since the combined attack of John, Sera, and Kass, even if Orin was weakening them, should've been enough to obliterate the sheilds/barrier(s) around Orin

Do you believe John will have further limits to his ability?

Just to clarify I’m not using the image above as evidence. It’s just important to what’s being talked about.

Back on topic, I remember when John’s ability was first revealed everyone thought it was like the perfect op ability he could beat anyone, and then every time we learn more about John’s ability it shows it’s not as strong as we thought it was. For example we recently learned that he has horrible efficiency with healing and he can’t even copy time manipulation. The next thing I want to bring up is do you think there’s a certain limit to how many high level abilities he could copy? Like let’s say John fought 4 level 7.5’s. I like he be able to just copy and amp them all regardless? Could he only handle one or two?

There was a discussion not too long ago here on John vs Valerie and some people said John could copy her ability and amp it as well as 3 other abilities, but that almost sounds a little too strong doesn’t it? Like he could amp the ability of someone slightly weaker than him and then throw on 3 more amped abilities? Or maybe that’s fair? Given all the weaknesses his ability already has.

Orrin's trick.

The latest episode subtly revealed a new part of Orrin's ability, one that explains how Orrin is going to lose.

Specifically in the moment after Orrin captures Sera, we see John comment on the defenses dropping. So its heavily implied in this moment that his ability can buff those under his control. It also explains why their decently conceived plan failed. Is it optimal, no but optimal is often bad writing. They had no reason to suspect that Orrin's defense would be strong enough to keep out all three of Sera, John and Kass. Other evidence for this is the color of the barrier around Orrin losing much of its green hue after Sera is caught.

But now that Sera is under his control, his own body is vulnerable. The next chapter or two is going to be John desperately trying to hold onto Sera in this brutal cage match, hopefully long enough for Kassandra and the others to break through and Hurt Orrin.

Is it worth reading further?

I used to be a massive fan of unordinary when i was younger where i left was during seraphina taking down john as the blyke hero arc kinda threw me off (after rereading now i appreciate it alot more) now ive reread and gotten up until john lost his ability, i know he gets his power back eventually (hes the main character i know he will) but its honestly killed the momentum for me and i cant help but feel it will just turn back into the original story first arc where everybody will target john and attack him, sera will protect him where she can (or another royal)

I honestly dont see what character development he can gain from this other than "it turns out i really do want my ability"

explanation

I know everyone is upset about the latest chapter, and I am too. But I don’t think being harsh toward Uru is the solution.

The scenario was somewhat predictable, and I don’t think it was executed well. The short chapter only made people even angrier. I usually speak up about the things I don’t like, but I can still see how Orrin managed to take control of Seraphina.

First of all, I don’t think Orrin is stronger than Seraphina. A level above 8.5 seems very unlikely to me. What happened in the last chapter wasn’t a matter of raw power, but of how his ability was used.

Orrin took advantage of his high defenses to buy himself enough time to break into Seraphina’s mind. She wasn’t cautious enough, and unlike Arlo, she doesn’t have strong defensive abilities that can block mental attacks. Just as physical damage is reflected back onto her because her body isn’t protected against it, she also isn’t immune to mental attacks. The idea is similar to what happened with Tariq when John was immobilized—so the concept of Orrin controlling Seraphina makes sense.

However, I think Uru made a mistake in the execution. Seraphina is a careful and intelligent character, and she already knew about Orrin’s ability, so having her fall into the trap this easily doesn’t feel convincing. Uru should have put more effort into the setup. The idea of a rematch between John and Seraphina is great, but it needed more believable reasons. For example, Orrin could have struggled while Seraphina stayed cautious, only for him to outsmart her in the end. A longer and more engaging chapter would have made a huge difference.

Even so, the scenario itself still has the potential to be exciting. I know the execution was disappointing, and I was one of the first people to criticize it. But we can’t change what already happened. I think our message has reached Uru, but taking it too far will only put her under more pressure, which could hurt the quality of the story even more, especially this season.

Maybe this issue will solve itself as the characters continue to grow stronger. Uru has pushed their power levels so high that she’s now struggling to write situations where these characters can actually be challenged, which is why she has to create scenarios that temporarily limit them.

As for why Seraphina didn’t immediately rush in during Time Freeze and take Orrin out early, that would have been logical, but it also would have made for a pretty boring scenario. Besides, it doesn’t seem like she can keep time frozen for very long before being detected. She also let her guard down because she believed her arrival had caught Orrin by surprise. Cassandra’s plan was flawed because it didn’t make proper use of Seraphina.

As for Orrin’s level, I still believe he’s somewhere around 7.5 to 7.8.

What do you think uru should ACTUALLY DO to fix the problems faced by unOrdinary?

I know everyone's been talking about how this this this is wrong with the webtoon and throwing out criticism and then there's been other people calling them out for being ungrateful and stuff, but what's something you think uru could actually work on?

Is the Blyke keychain sold out?

I have a Blyke keychain clipped onto my backpack, and I ordered another one to keep at home for display. I got my package today and received Remi instead. There wasn't a note on the bottom that storenvy was out, and he's still available on the site, so what happened?

UPDATE: She is sending a replacement ❤️
