Parking Pass for 2026-2027

Hey, I live at Fifteen51 and I’m open to giving away my parking spot for a reasonable price. Year round, 24/7 parking. Right across from UNR. Bonus if you already live here

nevadafit is required for transfers?

just finished obtaining my associate’s degree at the college of southern nevada.

i applied as a transfer student to unr, but apparently, i’m required to attend nevadafit as a incoming transfer?

i opted out of transferfit, i even opted out of nevadafit, and yet it’s still a requirement for me to attend and the office of financial aid even tacked on a “nevadafit housing charge” as a complimentary addition when i chose standard housing at great basin?

any helpful context as to why this is would be super helpful! thank you.

Whats the most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a Nevada fan?(Football)

I’m doing a series where I ask all 136 FBS subreddits on what their most heartbreaking loss they witnessed. This loss could’ve been witnessed from the TV or while attending the game doesn’t matter.

If I had to guess for Nevada, 2010 vs Hawaii.Ruined an opportunity at a perfect season+ a potential BCS bowl game.1991 vs YSU, missed field goal to destroy the hopes of a FCS national championship, and 2012 vs Arizona when Nevada somehow gave up two touchdowns with less than 2 minutes left in the game.

latin honors

hello!

sorry if this is a stupid question, but i'm a transfer student from tmcc and i'm a little confused on how unr gives out latin honors for transfers. do they factor my gpa from tmcc, or do they base it off my "college" gpa (i.e. college of engineering, college of business, etc.)?

Has anyone been excused from the typical senior thesis? Or been granted a reduced schedule?

Hello, I’m about to start my senior thesis. Unfortunately, I recently received a health diagnosis which puts me in a difficult situation because I work a full-time job, which is necessary because my job provides me with health insurance that will cover my therapy. However, with my full-time job, appointments, summer classes, and senior thesis, I’m unsure about whether I’ll be able to keep up with everything. Has anyone been excused from the typical senior thesis? Or been granted a reduced schedule?

Edit: I was diagnosed with cancer, lol. I received a very rude DM saying mental health and therapy isn’t a valid excuse.

Hello from the Nevada Transportation Authority (NTA).

Hello from the Nevada Transportation Authority (NTA).

The Nevada Transportation Authority administers and enforces Nevada laws pertaining to passenger transportation, household goods movers, storage of household goods, and tow cars. The NTA is responsible for providing fair and impartial regulation to promote safe, adequate, economical, and efficient transportation services across Nevada and to foster sound economic conditions in motor transportation.

The NTA also has responsibility for the taxicab industry throughout Nevada outside of Clark County under NRS 706.

We created this account to share transportation safety and consumer awareness information, provide resources and updates related to regulated transportation services, answer questions when possible, and assist Nevadans in better understanding transportation regulations and rider protections.

This account will primarily be used for informational and public awareness purposes. While we may not be able to respond to every comment or inquiry, we hope this serves as another way to connect with and assist the public.

Trying to find number to report food poisoning/seek a health inspection

Hi everyone :) I am 95% sure I caught food poisoning from the Halal Shack and I’m having a heck of a time figuring out where to file a report. I’m so sure it was from there because the chicken I had had clearly been left out for a while and was cold, but my silly self thought “meh, I’ll be fine,” and ate it anyways. Not so fine now.

So far I tried: UNR Dining (number not valid), UNR Res Services (directed me to UNR dining), UNR EHS (directed me to dining, but also waiting for a call back from them), Northern Nevada Public Health at 775-328-2434 opt 8 (stated that it’s not reportable through them since UNR is state run), Nevada Health Authority (said it wasn’t them either), Healthcare Quality and Compliance complaint line (directed me to a website, https://www.hcqc.nv.gov/complaints but the website didn’t have food safety complaint forms).

Does anyone have a direct web link or phone number that I can report this to?

Could I Get In With a 2.45 gpa as a CSN Transfer Student?

I'm planning on transferring to UNR for Fall 2026 but I've been slacking a bit at CSN, and so I've got a 2.45 gpa, but I heard I could submit my ACT scores as an alternative which I got a 20 on. I know a lot of ppl like to joke about how UNR is the "University of no Rejection" but I just wanna know if that's actually true? Idk, probably a dumb question lmao.

Parking citation notice 2 years later

My first gut feeling is that this is scam / spam - especially since I don’t remember ever getting a citation in 2024 at the date they listed, and I rarely drove and parked on campus. But I guess if anyone is curious as to what happens if you don’t pay an expired meter citation. I already got my diploma, and I’m already employed 2 years later. Doubt I’ll ever take classes at UNR ever again. Guess the board of regents is in a pinch.

I went through the interview process and turned in everything on my checklist as well as immunizations. I applied for an online graduate program 4/18 , interview 4/26. It’s hitting the three week period. Should I email my graduate program I applied for a wait a little longer? Thanks!

Fitness Center

Hi, I graduate this month and am coming up to UNR for the fall and I currently take lifting/bodybuilding pretty seriously and was wondering how people feel about the variety of the equipment they have here. I did a campus tour but we didn't really get to see much and I was wondering about the quality of the machines and if there is basically every type of machine. Are there things like lat pullovers / pendulum squat / standing lat raise machines like more niche stuff? Or is it just relatively basic like free weights and basic hammer strength machines? Just some comments on what people generally have experienced would be very helpful and bonus points if you have a lot of training history. Thanks a lot
