I decided to try a new curated map and went with Buak.
I already looted towns and got myself a decent amount of melee weapons, a car, and a map. So here are some things I'd like to know:
Are there military locations in Buak? Where are they?
How do I get a research kit? Do I need to blow up those safes with dynamite?
Where can I find gasmasks and rifles?

in cali 2 southeast from the cathedral theres a house that has all these webs and what not with just bare bones loot and im unsure if thats all it is just an eerie vibe or if theres something else to it
its a small cave with a VERY ANGRY AND FAST AF rabbit that will run to you and tear you up and eat rounds, but if you kill it save the pelt cause its legendary and just kinda neat
im trying to find pistons (Cali 2) but i never find them anywhere, i can find converters and axels but never in my life a single REGULAR piston, where should I be looking?
EDIT: or is their a way to craft them?
i want to make a dark rp server and i am looking for a good map for it (either free to use or crediting the creator). i am hoping for a large/extreme map with no item, vehicle, or zombie spawns (animal spawns are ok)
i am really bad with the terrain editing so ideally there are already good terrain features (i can edit the buildings and roads within the towns/cities as necessary)
bonus if there is a good amount of water (like an ocean with some private islands, some rivers around the map, etc) - what would be ideal is if the whole map was surrounded by water, so a boat can take you almost anywhere on the map

yes yes i know the bunkers exist but i want a large enough space for a bigger base, something more extravagant, so is their a spot with enough flat land and not some random trees in the way? or can i get rid of trees permanently?
I used to love this game a long time ago. Hopping on a server and getting the full survivor experience in a short session was fun. Then the influx of players from the battle royale mode seemed to promote cheats that carried over to the main game. The popularity coincided with my experience on public servers. I went from about 50-50 friendly to hostile interactions to just hostile, so I quit playing.
I tried again maybe a year ago and everything was dead or russian. Has anything changed since?
Hey guys I’ve been playing unturned for a while and I was trying to see if you guys know any other locations we’re we can build in pre-made structures?
At this red circle on the top right by Tuolomne is an unmarked town and I discovered I could build in the pre-made structures like the gym, and mechanic shop there.
Do you guys know any other locations that are similar to this?

Heya, it's me again! I find myself coming here more, so I wanted to share this!
I'm currently planning out a general base move and am also remodeling it to function as a complete warehouse/depot for my in-game shop. The image attached is the current operation*(3 floors)* compared to the bottom floor of the planned build. Any critique is appreciated— all proportions are set to California2 items.

Hi y'all, I'm planning to create a private server to play a 5v5 with friends. We've previously played russia and we really liked it, but since it would be the third time playing the same map, my friends are looking for something new.
I am aware of the numerous curated maps around there but I still have a soft spot for vanilla maps.
Germany is the most similar map I can think of similar to russia. I have played on curated maps before but most of them are really PvP focused, like escalation.
Are there any maps you would recommend to play that has russia as a good comparison?

I started a new server folder, immediately added California 2 on the workshop list. I had it set to normal mode.
Played for a few days, then tried to edit the config and it reset itself on startup.
We immediately noticed the chart map showing without a chart function disappeared and our food & water degeneration got worse. It was almost like we had a nice mix of easy and normal mode.
Does anyone know what would have caused this mix to be the default?
I know I can edit the config and do the read only for it not the reset, but it has been finicky and resets after editing certain values. It would be nice if I could recover the first config we had that wouldn’t reset.
(ex of bank in oakhurst) i see all the gold and whatnot but no way of entering other than through this door, do explosives work to open these or something else or is it just riches collecting dust?
I played 200 hrs on this game before and after release and used to love it.
Looking at getting back to try it out.
Any big updates or changes to look out for? any active servers worth checking out?
