Sunday Stationery Haul for Drawing

My leg is hurting a lot today, so I have not been able to do a lot.

But just to get out and get a bit of fresh air I went to a shop that had some basic drawing supplies/stationery and get af few things to draw with.

The White Church of Greece

I visited Panagia Paraportiani in Mykonos, Greece, in 2003, and more than twenty years later, I found myself sketching it.
It is one of those places that stays with you. The simple white forms, the irregular shapes of the church, and the deep blue of the Aegean make it instantly recognisable.
When I sketched it, I was not trying to produce a perfect architectural drawing. I wanted to capture the memory of being there and the character of the place as I remember it.
This sketch is part of my Church Sketchbook, my project to sketch 300 iconic churches around the world and share the stories behind them.

Did another tutorial

With every sketch, the goal is not to produce something beautiful but to practice and learn 🥲

Followed another tutorial

The tutorials are teaching me some drawing skills that I can apply in making my own drawings from life or from my own photos

I made a sketch of an old gate at Ahmedabad fort. Thoughts?

Hi guys! I’m an architecture student currently studying in Ahmedabad, India. This is a weekend sketch I made of Raikhad Gate, a 15th century gate within the walls of the old city. The structure is currently in disrepair but still shows traces of different styles of different people that ruled the city through its materiality and elements. I would love to hear your thoughts on this and also whether and how you engage in urban sketching!
