What should my university mention when emailing my official transcript to UWinnipeg?

Hi everyone,

My BTech university is going to email my official transcript directly to the University of Winnipeg as part of my admission requirements.

I have a small query: Is there anything specific that my university needs to mention in the email subject line or body when sending the transcript?

If anyone gone through similar process please do share your experiences

thanks

ACS First‑Year Schedule Review, Need Advice on Friday Labs + Prof Feedback

I’m planning my first sem in ACS at UWinnipeg and wanted to get some feedback on my schedule. Does it look balanced for a first‑year load? If anyone has taken these specific courses or had the same professors, I’d really appreciate your thoughts, I couldn’t find some of them on RateMyProf.

Also, for the Friday labs: are they normally in‑person, or can they be done online/off‑campus? I’m getting mixed info and want to make sure I plan properly.

Any advice, suggestions, or personal experience would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

I built a free UWinnipeg course planner because WebAdvisor was driving me up the wall

Not affiliated with the U of W, just a student. It is free, there are no ads, and your courses stay on your device unless you make an account.

It does the things I kept wanting:

  • search all 2,413 courses instantly, including by topic rather than just code
  • see the full prerequisite chain for a course, and what taking it unlocks
  • build a timetable and catch clashes before you register
  • check what you still need for your degree
  • get a push alert when a seat opens in a full section
  • And 20+ other features

Everything comes from the public calendar and timetable. It cannot see WebAdvisor, so always confirm there before you register.

uwplanner.com

Also, it's a PWA so, to receive notification,
on ios: in safari, click on share and then add to home screen
on android: click three dotted menu icon then "install"

Happy to hear what is wrong or missing. I am still fixing things.

Julie Nagaam

Why the fuck does she still get paid to work here - U of W is just allowing this Pretendian to take our money, STILL!

Some “justice” this school represents lol.

Your tax dollars don’t belong in Julie’s pockets. 😂

How strict is uofw’s residence requirement?

Is it possible to get the residence courses requirement nullified if I requested? I’m thinking of transferring but I don’t want to retake a bunch of classes.

Tell me a time you almost/had screwed up your academics or job.

I recently had to apply for a deferred online exam (ProctorU) because I didn't have the foresight to test my equipment and found out 1 hour into trying to get into my exam that my device wasn't compatible. I missed my chance to take the exam. That exam was 40% of my grade and I already lost 3% so that would have given me D in the course, and likely would have wrecked my chances of getting into advanced program courses like Pharmacy and Respiratory Therapy. I did get approved so I will be rewriting my exam, but yeah, that was completely my fault, no excuses, and I just want to see if anybody is in the same boat (A boat named "Oh No! The consequences of my own actions!"). I hope this made somebody else feel better, and prove that no matter how bad you screwed up, there is always somebody who screwed up more.

18M looking to make some friends in Winnipeg

Hey everyone! I’m 18M, originally from Iran, and I’ve been living in Winnipeg for about 3 years. I’m currently studying at the University of Winnipeg.
I’m trying to meet some new people around my age and hopefully make some good friends. I’m pretty much down for anything — hanging out, exploring the city, playing video games or board games, trying new places/activities, or just chilling. I’d also be down for parties if that’s your thing.
I drink occasionally but I don’t smoke. Mostly just looking for people around my age who are chill, open-minded, and actually want to hang out and do stuff. I’m open to meeting anyone as long as we get along.
Also, English isn’t my first language. I’m pretty comfortable speaking it, but sometimes slang or jokes go completely over my head 😂 So you might have to explain the joke to me once in a while lol.
If you’re also looking to make some new friends, feel free to DM me! And if anyone knows good places, groups, or activities in Winnipeg where people around my age can meet new friends, I’d really appreciate any suggestions!

KIN-3110-001 Instruction in Individual KIN-3111-001 Instruction in Team

There is two sections of each course but the difference is one's graded and one's pass/fail. Which is better? Assuming, if its an easier course to do graded? I am waitlisted for the graded but the pass/fail has spots.

Do I have to get a new peggo card from student services at the beginning of the year? Do I take them my old one?

This will be my second year I guess and I don’t really know how things work still and I can’t find any clear answer online.

Recommended Science Requirement Courses for someone with an 8th grade science level?

Fun story: I flunked Grade 9 science so many times, my school only gave me a credit because the teacher who was doing one-on-one teaching with me had a mental breakdown and left the school half-way through the semester.

I wish I was kidding.

(Shout out to Mr. B’s wife for taking the house and the kids. Couldn’t have made it without her.)

If it helps: I’m a preschool teacher going into an Inclusion speciality, best at learning about brains, if I had to pick a theoretical subject rather than hands-on.

Pickleball club/inter-murals

As the same suggests I am just wondering if any of these clubs or leagues exist at the university and if not, I want to see if there is interest for a club, or intramural sessions to be set up as I would love to be involved!

The sport is very cost friendly and easy enough to pick up on, it is also a great way to keep in shape during stressful studying especially if you are playing singles.

LMK.
