Frequently Asked Questions in Astrology

There are a few questions that I see coming up repeatedly on Reddit, other forums, and during my one-on-one client consultations. Today, I have cherry-picked 5 of them that, if I got a dollar every time I was asked, I would probably be competing with Elon Musk by now.

I will try to answer and explain each of them as exhaustively as possible. There will definitely be more parts to this post in the future because, trust me, the list is endless.

1. Is astrology accurate?

A BIG YES. Astrology is accurate.

The astrologer you are consulting? Not sure.

It is extremely important to choose an astrologer carefully. Two people can study the same subject and have vastly different levels of knowledge, experience, judgement, and ability to apply what they have learnt.

Also, if you are a beginner reading your own chart, it is very easy to overlook certain things because of personal bias. You may concentrate too much on the positives because you want something to happen, or obsess over the negatives because you are afraid of them. When the expected results do not manifest, people often conclude that astrology itself must be incorrect.

It is equally important to use the correct birth time. Even a small difference in birth time can affect divisional charts and, depending on the degree of the Ascendant, sometimes even the Lagna itself. If your accurate birth time is not known, it is advisable to consult a learned professional for Birth Time Rectification before expecting precise predictions.

Astrology is a vast subject. Its accuracy should not be judged solely on the basis of someone's ability to interpret it.

2. Will two people born at the exact same time have the same life?

Hypothetically, let's assume two babies are born in the exact same second. Even then, they cannot be born at the exact same place. They may be in the same hospital, or even the same delivery room, but not at the same physical coordinates. One bed is in a different location from another, and even every tile in a room has unique coordinates.

In Jyotish, coordinates are not just about the city. They refer to the precise point on Earth. So two children can never truly be born at the exact same place and time. Their charts may be extremely similar, but they will never be mathematically identical, which is why their destinies can have major similarities without being exactly the same.

Jyotish is all about time, place, and date.

An interesting case in point is the independence of India and Pakistan as two distinct nations. India became independent in New Delhi, whereas Pakistan's independence was proclaimed in Karachi, its capital back then at the same time. The difference in coordinates contributed to different Ascendants for the two national charts, and we can see how differently both nations eventually shaped up.

3. Is a waxing Moon stronger than a waning Moon?

Food for thought: Lord Krishna is traditionally believed to have been born on Krishna Paksha Ashtami, which means His Moon was waning. Yet his chart is regarded as one of the strongest in Jyotish.

The Moon is exalted in Taurus and placed in the Lagna, contributing to one of the most captivating, charming, and magnetic personalities described in our scriptures.

If we follow the conclusion that a waxing Moon is inherently superior to a waning Moon, are we suggesting that the Lord Himself chose an inferior time to incarnate?

Perhaps waxing versus waning is only one variable among many. The Moon's dignity, house placement, sign, nakshatra, aspects, conjunctions, dispositor, yogas, and the overall promise of the chart carry far greater weight.

4. Does Sade Sati always mean a bad phase?

Sade Sati is simply Saturn's transit through the 12th, 1st, and 2nd houses from your natal Moon. Depending on your chart, it can bring responsibility, delays, hard work, maturity, a difficult relocation, or emotional challenges. Some people even achieve their biggest milestones during Sade Sati, such as marriage, having children, buying a house, or making significant progress in their careers.

Think of any difficult transit, including Sade Sati, as stormy weather and your personal running dasha as the house you are currently living in.

If the foundation of your house is strong, meaning your running dasha does not indicate a particularly difficult period, the stormy weather outside may not interfere with your life very much.

However, if your house already has a broken roof, meaning your personal dasha is unfavorable, you are naturally going to experience the effects of that bad weather much more intensely.

Transits do not operate in isolation. Your personal dasha determines how receptive your chart is to the events a transit is trying to trigger.

5. Why is a particular karmic dasha bringing me misery when I have never done any bad karma?

Most people going through a difficult Mahadasha or Antardasha often ask me what misdeeds they are paying for when they do not remember ever hurting anyone.

I usually encourage them to channel their energy into areas where they can improve their current situation and give them personalized, pragmatic, and spiritual remedies. Deep down, however, I also want them to understand that this is not how karma works.

People often blame God and destiny instead of realizing that nature works in perfect harmony. Every action has a reaction, whether it has already taken place or is yet to unfold.

There have been lifetimes we have no recollection of. Lifetimes that may have created the karma the present one is here to balance as we continue on our journey towards liberation.

The karmic path is rarely easy to decipher. Even the kindest souls sometimes have to endure the harshest experiences.

Perhaps that is the true essence of karma: to make us experience the consequences without the memory of creating their cause.

Sometimes, it is the sheer brutality of it that catches us completely by surprise.

Conclusion / Final Thoughts

Astrology becomes far more meaningful when we stop looking for absolute rules and start understanding how different factors work together. I hope this answered at least a few questions you have wondered about at some point. If there are other questions you repeatedly come across or have always wanted to ask an astrologer, leave them in the comments. I might pick them up for Part 2 of this post.

Hope this made for an interesting read. Wishing you a good rest of the week!

Everyone Blames Sade Sati But Half the Time It's Actually This Kantaka Shani

We talk about Sade Sati a lot in astrology circles. Forget about astrology circles , in fact, the moment something starts going wrong in someone's life, it's usually the first thing people check or say Sade-Sati

Career isn't moving it must be Sade Sati. Relationship feels heavy again could be Sade Sati. Life suddenly slowed down? Definitely Sade Sati.

Quite a few people come to me convinced with Saturn is ruining their life, and when I check or now I have read enough, They're nowhere near Sade Sati.

Instead, they're going through something much more specific. Kantaka Shani.
Yes you heard it right , many people don't even know this.. "Kantaka Shani" And I honestly don't think enough people talk about it or mention about it..

If you interested then read this or you may skip , What exactly is Kantaka Shani

>The word Kantaka literally means a thorn It's a Sanskrit word, I love that symbolism because it's incredibly accurate. Imagine walking with a tiny thorn stuck in your foot. It isn't life-threatening correct? You can still walk , work and function. But Eventually you have to stop, remove the thorn, and deal with what caused it.

>That's exactly how this Saturn transit feels. It usually doesn't destroy an area of life. In-fact introduces enough resistance that you're forced to slow down and rebuild something properly.

I so want this to be explained via the story of Legend Ravana & Shani Dev, but I guess I will keep this for some next time.

Now where does this happens?

>Traditionally, Kantaka Shani is observed when Saturn transiting moves through the 4th, 7th, or 10th house from your Moon sign (Chandra Rashi).

>Some astrologers also say or have seen it from the Ascendant because those same houses represent important pillars of life, but see the classical reference is from the Moon itself.

>Now you may have question , Why these houses only ? Because they're Kendras. And in Vedic the Kendras are the foundation of daily life. The place you live & the people you share your life with. All the work you give your energy to every day. So when Saturn occupies one of these houses , you become very aware of whatever isn't built solidly.

Now what does this Kanataka Shani actually feel like? And Why does it sometimes feel worse than Sade Sati?

>It depends on which house Saturn is activating , Suppose 4th House then your home, your mothers's health , your property and responsibilities around your parents suddenly starts feels heavier. Emotional peace becomes something you have to actively work on for instead of something that comes naturally.

>Similarly take the 10th house, Career will start becoming heavy, lay-offs, job change , relocation, office politics, nothing will feel right going in your career life. You may even question whether you are on the right professional path or not?
Now why does it sometimes feel worse than Sade Sati?

>Because Saturn never works on just one house. It will also aspects other parts of the chart. So if Saturn transiting the 4th house as an example. From there, Saturn also looks the 6th house, so debt, health issues, enemies, breakup, legal issues . It aspects the 10th house, placing pressure on career and public responsibilities. You shall be physically , emotionally and mentally drained.

Are Kantak Shani, Dhaiya, and Panoti the same thing?

>1. Dhaiya also called Ardha Sade Sati or Small Panoti in many regions.
2. 4th from Moon Kantaka Shani this is also called Ardha Sade Sati in some tradition ( The thorn which am talking about)
3. 8th from Moon is called as Ashtama Shani ( It's actually dhaiya that can bring sudden shifts)

Note : If you want to know your Sade Sati, Dhaiya, or Kantaka+ Shani, always check from your Moon sign, not your Ascendant..

Mahadev Holds the Key Essence in the Kundali

Good Evening Friends,

Mahadev Holds The Key Core

In Vedic Astrology Mahadev is worshipped as the destroyer of the universe, but he is also the eternal force governing transformation, detachment, karma and ultimately liberation. Whatever the horoscope, there is the energy of Shiva in it – the discipline of Saturn, the awakening of Ketu, the tranquillity of the Moon or the path of Moksha in the Twelfth House.

Mahadev teaching that every end is a beginning for a higher evolution The greatest karmic lessons, the unexpected delays, the losses and the times of isolation are often not punishments; they are the soul’s preparation for greater consciousness. What appears to be destruction from the outside is often the basis of spiritual and material rebirth.

Astrologically, the impact of Mahadev is most visible when Saturn calls for responsibility, Ketu detaches from worldly things, or the Twelfth House awakens inner transformation. These planetary forces will gradually strip away ego, false identity and unnecessary attachments, allowing the native to align more closely with Dharma and higher purpose.

This eternal truth is symbolised in the Himalayas and more particularly in Kedarnath. Kedarnath is snow-clad and devoid of worldly distractions, symbolizing purity, silence, endurance and unswerving faith. As the mountain which is steadfast in every season, Mahadev teaches us to be steadfast in every karmic cycle. Real strength isn’t about winning outwardly, but about remaining calm in the face of the unknown.

Astrologically Mahadev can be understood through some basic principles:

Saturn (Shani): Karma, discipline, perseverance, patience and justice

Ketu: Detachment, intuition, liberation and spiritual awakening.

Moon (Chandra): Inner peace, emotional stability & mental clarity

Twelfth House: Moksha, surrender, meditation and the divine.

Eighth House: Transformations, hidden wisdoms & the rebirth through adversities.

These combinations are not merely signs of difficulty. They are often the very catalysts that turn an ordinary life into an extraordinary one. Many people only find their deepest strength after going through periods of intense karmic refinement.

So Mahadev is more than devotion. He is the embodiment of the courage to let go, the wisdom to detach, the discipline to honour one’s karma and the faith to trust the Divine when the path ahead is not visible.

With the advent of the holy month of Sawan, it reminds us strongly that Shiva is not just a god to be worshipped, but a timeless principle to be lived by. Every mantra, every surrender, every disciplined effort, every righteous decision, gradually and surely tunes the soul to higher consciousness.

Mahadev is not far from you. He is your silent strength that turns karma into wisdom, fear into courage, life into liberation.

Anyways conditions may vary from chart to chart, so assessment of the kundali is strictly recommended.

Mystery of Ketu in the 10thhouse [Different POV, Predictions]

Ketu in the 10th House

Ketu in the 10th house creates a very unusual/different relationship with career, authority, and public recognition. These natives often feel a strange detachment from their professional identity, even when they will look successful from outside.

Interesting Traits About These People

  • They frequently feel like they are "in a role play" in their career rather than genuinely being it. There is a sense of unreality around their professional identity, they will feel like they are not truly, what people perceive them professionally.
  • Recognition and authority often come in unconventional, or unexpected ways and almost never through the usual corporate ladder.
  • These natives can be strangely indifferent to promotions, titles, or public image, even when others chase these things intensely.
  • If Ketu is linked with Rahu's axis strongly, there can be sudden, unexplained changes in career direction like leaving one profession entirely for something which might not make proper sense.
  • Relationship with the father or father-figures (bosses, authority figures, government) will be distant, confusing, or karmically loaded. There is unfinished business here from past life.
  • They do exceptionally well in fields connected to foreign lands, spirituality, research, or anything outside mainstream structures.

Most Interesting Trait

These natives often achieve success in career only after they stop to "prove" themselves to society. As long as their actions are driven by ego or the need for external validation, the 10th house will not give proper results. Once the person genuinely lets go of what authority figures think, doors open in strange ways.

  • Many of these people work in isolation, remotely, or in freelance/consulting work rather than proper office/corporate way.
  • Government-related dealings, court matters, or dealings with authority are delayed, confusing, or come with hidden obstacles.
  • If Saturn has a strong connection here, there can be long periods of feeling career less or purposeless before clarity comes, often in the later part of life.

Ketu Can Give Powerful Career Results If:

  1. It receives benefic aspects from Jupiter or a well placed 10th lord
  2. It has a relationship with its dispositor
  3. The Atmakaraka or Amatyakaraka supports the 10th house

As always, Rahu's placement (the 4th house here) must be studied together with Ketu in the 10th, since this axis represents the relation between inner emotional roots (Rahu in 4th) and outer public karma (Ketu in 10th).

This placement can be very good for unconventional careers, since Ketu naturally supports work that doesn't require recognition from the world.

A common pattern I've observed: these natives often do their best work when nobody is watching. The focus should be on doing the actual work (link with 9th), and the 10th house karma will follow on its own.

Check your rahu !

Rahu in 3/6/10/11 is considered good.

But the thing is most important here , aspect on rahu ⭐ If trikona lord aspecting rahu - good . Connected with first house lord , 5 house lord , 9 house lord is beneficial

If 3/6/8/11 lord aspecting- problematic.

Ex: Taurus lagna, rahu Jupiter is in 2 nd house and aspected by mars , here rahu ad is troublesome also person has huge chances of earning from wrong sources.

Another one rahu in 5 , aspected by Jupiter which is 8 LORD , this rahu can create huge trouble in its antrdasha ( if 1/5/9 house lord are not aspecting this )

Rahu In 9 aspected or sitting with 5 lord can give status, respect in antrdasha ( should not be connected to 3/6/8 )

(⭐ Also don't forget to check strength of rahu's dipositor ⭐)

Share your experience releted to rahu antrdasha
