I'll be in Chennai with my family on 12th July, will stay there until 14th, where at 10am we wanna leave for pondi. Check-in at Pondi hotel is at 2pm so we'll have lunch in Pondi itself. We're 4 people with 3 large suitcases and 2 small (cabin size) bags, and 1-2 shoulder bags (ik it's a lot, but it's needed for a different purpose)

Now i've browsed a couple cab-services,

1. Red Taxi App - about ₹4k for sedan, and ₹6k+ for SUV (since we have alot of luggage), there was no mention in the app for a roof-carrier, tolls and stuff not included
2. Pondi Drop Taxi Whatsapp - about ₹3.7k total for SUV with toll charges included
3. BlaBlaCar - about ₹1.4k for innova but it leaves too early @ 8am in the morning and gets us to pondi by 11am (too early).
4. Ola/Uber - ₹3.5-4 for a sedan, ₹5-6k for an SUV
5. Goibibo Cab - ₹3k for a sedan with a roof carrier (worried about the reliability of this)

What else can i try to book? Or which of these is the best one overall?? Should I wait until a day or two before 14th july to book it on BlaBlaCar?

After getting to pondi, we need to go to vellore on the 16th of July, again at about 10am. BUT, we just need to stop at VIT for dropping a brother off for college there (30-40 minutes max), and also for lunch and some rest, then leave again to go back to chennai airport directly on the same day in the same cab. Drop taxi quoted me about ₹6k+tolls for this whole thing. Need more suggestions for this route, considering cost-efficiency + comfort + reliability.

I'm a foreigner living in Vellore with my spouse who is a local, and looking to see what businesses we could start.

I personally love stationery, not the office supplies, but the whole journalling shebang -- stamps, art prints, washi tapes, stickers, notepads etc. I see this around locally and on amazon as well, but I feel like we can add more variety (east-asian styled ones, minimalist, anime, characters from brands like Kakao, Miffy, LINE, etc). I just wonder if this is something people would like as well?

I also like to bake and cook, but mostly will be foreign dishes (asian sweets like mochi, matcha drinks, etc). And there's so many nice food places in here already, but I don't know if it's going to grow. Our relatives aren't too fond of the food that I make LOL, so I was thinking maybe my recipes are not going to do well.

So, I would like to ask, what kind of business did you wish was in Vellore? I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Nandi narambu lam vellore ratham oori pona aalu naan. Chennai settled for past 20 years. Suddenly I have craving for 80s/90s Palace Hotel (opp to CMC) idly vada sambar. I know it doesn't exist now. But is there any other hotel which match the same taste. 80s/90s guys. Andha mug maathri irukura vaali la sambar uduvanga. Habba heavenly taste. Adhe maathri pal Halwa. Inga thirati pal nu thigatti pona taste la than vikuranga. Chinna vayasula nei sotta pal halwa nu enga appa vaanguvaru vellore la. Andha taste vera engeyum naan saapdala.

Hi, I'm an international student looking for a group to play football with in Vellore. If anyone is playing in Vellore town or CMC Bagayam campus can you let me know?

I want to learn and practice driving in Vellore and need recommendations for spots where I can dot it. I think like large plots or grounds or areas with less vehicle movements would be apt. I will be accompanied by someone who will teach and assist me with the driving.

MI recently married and moved to a new home. I tried getting a new domestic LPG connection, but every gas agency such as Bharat Gas, Indane, HP gas is refusing to provide to connection.

They say there is a nation wide ban on new connection.

I am being forced buy LPG cylinder from grey/black market at nearly double the price (INR 2000-2200 per 14.2KG cylinder).

If the cylinders can be availed in this manner, is there really a shortage of cylinders? Why are new connections not being provided? Is this prevalent across India?

How can I get a new domestic LPG connection?
