The Cockroach Janta Party might be the most Gen Z political movement India has seen 😭🪳

I honestly thought this was just another meme at first but the more I read about the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), the more interesting it became.

A movement started after unemployed youth were allegedly compared to cockroaches and parasites and instead of getting offended, people turned the cockroach into a symbol of survival and resistance. That alone feels peak internet generation energy 😭

And weirdly, behind all the satire, some of the demands are actually serious:
• No post-retirement Rajya Sabha rewards for Chief Justices
• Action against voter deletion
• 50% reservation for women in Parliament & Cabinet
• Penalties for party-hopping politicians
• Media accountability

The funniest part is that the “requirements” to join are basically:
✔ unemployed
✔ chronically online
✔ professional-level ranting skills

Not gonna lie, this feels less like a real political party and more like an entire generation using humor to vent frustration about jobs, politics, and the system in general.

India in 2026 really feels different sometimes 💀

Hiring a student for a marketing gig/petty tasks

Need someone between the age of 16-20 who wants to work for a few hours a day. There's a lot of things I need to get done I can't find the time for. Some tasks will be result based.

This is ideal for someone who wants a glimpse into adulting & can think well & figure out solutions.

Hmu.

Looking for accommodation

Hey guys, looking for some suggestions regarding staying in Vikhroli/Mulund/Nahar side.

Can anyone recommend good bachelor-friendly 1BHK apartments or societies in these areas? Societies that are generally not overly restrictive regarding visitors or guest policies/female friend.

Please share your experiences or recommendations. Thanks a lot!

Mapped 57 BMC complaints from the last 10 days. Monsoon is 3 weeks away and drainage is already blocked.

Hi All it's me again the nerdy neighbourhood activist:

I've been tracking civic complaints across Mumbai on majhaward.com

Here are Some concerning patterns I saw from May 6-15:

Andheri station: garbage blocking drainage, flagged as waterlogging risk before monsoon even starts.

Mithi River Saki Naka: island forming during the desilting, mosquito breeding ground.

Bandra Chimbai Road: contractor damaged drainage during repair, left unfinished.

12 footpath encroachment complaints in 10 days across Churchgate, Bandra, Kurla, Versova, Worli, Dharavi. Mulund West has a declared no-hawking zone with an illegal vegetable market that keeps coming back despite repeated complaints.

Vakola Santacruz East: open dumping with rats, someone literally wrote "Hantavirus risk" in their complaint.

All mapped by ward with the responsible corporator, MLA and MP on the website..

All this is from what I was able to scrape from twitter using a jugaad may not cover all complaints raised ...

Let's address the dumping ground issue

Anytime I search up anything about Vikhroli this is the most common thing that pops up and everyone just talks about the dumping ground smell issue

Personally haven't experienced it so far in kn 1 ( moved recently) don't know how it will be in monsoon

Plz share your experience does it really affect day to day life so much?

Looking for Study Room/Library

Hi!

I'm currently preparing for a competitive exam and looking for a study room/library where I can study for at least 5-6 hours daily. Preferably in the Mulund-Vikhroli area and I'm okay with paying for a membership if required.

I have found some places online but need some trustworthy reviews/suggestions/opinions to arrive at a decision.

Thankyou!

I am at crossroads

I have recently finalised a rental property in Mayfair The View. I’m going to be living with a friend and my girlfriend (fiancé). But I’m really not sure how I can live quietly without the society interference, since I heard it’s a problem if you share a flat with the opposite gender if you’re unmarried.

If any one of you has been doing a live-in in Mumbai, how did you manage to pull this off? I’m a bit nervous thinking about the possibility of whether I can get kicked out of the place.
