Need to get cash but I’ve not brought a physical back card. How do I use Apple Wallet cards to get 50 quid? Cardless ATMs don’t work

I’m in London and need 50 pounds cash for a deposit, but I’ve only brought my phone with my cards virtually in Apple Wallet. I’ve tried a couple ATMs from Barclays, Santander and Natwest but they don’t accept any of my cards, even a Revolut one which I’ve verified should work on my end.

I’ve also tried going in shops and asking to pin extra, but they don’t really go for that. Are there other ways I could pay for cash that I’ve missed? Appreciate the help, cheers

Solo trip to London (25F) where to stay and what to do?

I’m heading to London on my own for the first time and staying a couple of days. This trip is partly about trying new things and figuring out what I actually enjoy. I like wandering through shops, sitting in cafés with a coffee or matcha, and being near the water. I’m usually more of a homebody, so this feels like a small step outside my comfort zone.

I’ve got a decent budget and want to stay somewhere that feels safe but still lively, with plenty of shops, cafés, and things happening around me. Areas like Soho, Covent Garden, Notting Hill, or South Bank all seem appealing, especially for walking around and soaking in the atmosphere.

I’d love suggestions on neighborhoods or hotels that are great for a first time solo visit, plus any low pressure things to do that don’t feel overly touristy.

Hi I’m 19F and im from the north part of England I used to live in London and have family there , I’m meeting my American friend 20M and I have promised to take him around London for the week . I’m mainly looking for places that will be fun , historical , and interesting for him to see ! Any suggestions would be appreciated! - we are both students and don’t want to spend toooo much money so if anyone could also suggest some free / inexpensive places that would be AMAZING!
We also want to go to the club but I have 0 clues as to what clubs to take him too , we both want to make friends and meet more people so club suggestions would be GREAT.

Going solo for the Harry Styles concert at Wembly

Hi everyone! It's not my first time going to a concert, but it'll be my first time going solo at London's Wembly.

I'm a bit nervous going alone, will it be okay? Awkward? Unsafe? Is there anything I should be aware of? My hotel isn't too close to the stadium.

Finding it difficult to tell fiction from reality

Hi all, I’m visiting London from America as part of a work trip and have a few spare days to sightsee. I’ve been doing research but it’s hard to tell what’s AI and what’s real. Some people say there are war zones in the city, Big Ben has a Muslim call to prayer and there are no go areas for tourists.

But others say tourists can take a red bus by tapping their credit card so apparently they are not just for locals. And I don’t need a bullet proof vest when watching the Changing of the Guard.

Please can you help me find out what actually is true?

Bar Crawl May 21st and 22nd. Punk/Gothic/Alt recommendations?

Where should I go on my crawl on the 21st and 22nd? Flying in from Canada and I want a good atmosphere for my crawl. I'm more than comfortable wandering solo, but if anyone is looking to show off their pride and joys I'd happily tag along if anyone's looking to crawl those nights.

Wouldn't say no to suggestions for appreciating architecture for the rest of my stay.

Edit

Crawl is the Friday and Saturday, so 22nd and 23rd. Whoops.

Advice on where to stay in London for a concert at Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium

I will be visiting London to attend a concert at Tottenham Hotspurs stadium and want some advice. Is it better to stay in Mill Hill or Chingford? I will probably be renting a car as well. Pros/cons to both locations.

Where to Stay in London with 9 Month Old?

My partner and I are planning to travel to London this summer - she has a work conference there and our plan is to hang out after the conference is done for some vacation time. We'll be with our 9-month old who we are traveling with for the first time.

Because our baby is so young, we don't necessarily need "kid activities" - at the same time it's not like we'll be able to travel in the same way that we were pre-kid. Normally we like to be at the heart of the city in a place with great restaurants and spots to hang out.

My wife's colleagues are staying in Blackfriars (which seems a little corporate) but we are debating whether to instead stay in South Kensington (where Claude seems to recommend with a baby) but we're worried could be a little sleepy. We stayed in Soho last time and loved it but that was pre-kid and also is fairly expensive.

Any recommendations? Other neighborhoods to consider? Worth it to stay in South Kensington instead, or just stick with where her colleagues are staying in Blackfriars? Should we spend a little bit more to stay in Marylebone? The conference is just a small part of our trip and she doesn't mind commuting if it means me and our baby can have a nicer time while she's at work.

Is this the correct way to book a black cab with a child seat to get to the airport?

So we came in on the Eurostar and we're going out through Heathrow, now we had a look and Airport transfers are £130-170, so at £88 the Taxi is a much better deal.

In Australia we just have a box to tick that we need a child seat, is this how it's done here?

Looking for a Londoner to show me the real London

Not really looking for landmarks, museums, galleries or the usual sightseeing stuff — I’ve already done that.

I’m more interested in real London life. The small everyday things. Someone kind allowing me to enter the real London. Someone who knows the city properly and wouldn’t mind showing me around a bit.

Where do locals actually go for a great lunch that doesn’t cost a fortune? Where’s good to rent a bike, and where should I ride it? Maybe even rent a scull and do a bit of rowing on the Thames. Best places for a run. Any local events which are fun. Proper pubs with a genuinely good pint. Great coffee. A decent cuppa. Places with character.

I’d love to discover the side of London you don’t find on TikTok or in guidebooks — random places, random encounters, good conversations, maybe even slightly chaotic nights out. Hid.den parties, tiny late-night spots, interesting people, unexpected experiences — I’m very open-minded and pretty much up for anything as long as the vibe’s good.

Would also love tips on where to stay without spending a ridiculous amount, where to buy proper English tea for sensible prices, and generally how Londoners actually live and speak these days. I’m trying to improve my English too, so hearing real everyday London English would be brilliant.

I’m a 44-year-old guy from Slovakia. Big foodie, coffee enthusiast, love theatre, and very into sport as well — especially actually doing it, not just watching it. Easygoing, curious, happy to wander around and see where the day (or night) goes.

When? From May 26 (evening) till May 30 (morning).

Can anyone recommend me some good old man pubs?

Howdy! I have a 24 hour layover in June and I already have most of what I want to do planned, but need help finding a good pub. I am 33m from Louisiana, but always like stopping in somewhere where there won’t be loud music playing and there’s good chatty locals, which usually ends up being where the older fellas are hanging out. Any recommendations where I can get a few drinks in and converse a bit?
