Trying to repair/revitalize trim on 2004 s60

The plastic outer trim on my 2004 s60 has faded and peeled in areas and I would like to fix it. Repainting it is an option, but I’m not sure what the exact color of this trim is, so that might be difficult. Are there any other solutions?

Please help - dealership sent my cpo S60 for paintjob under warranty to this tent on gravel. What would you do? What shohld I do?

Long story short: I bought a Volvo CPO from a dealer. There was a paint defect on the trunk that should've been caught before sale (they admitted it). After months of waiting, they finally sent it out for the warranty paint job — and I tracked the car (via the Volvo app) to a random used-car lot in the middle of nowhere.

This is where I found my car being painted: an open-air tent, on a dirt-and-gravel floor, no enclosed booth. The technician told me himself, "in these conditions, it's never 100%." Meanwhile there's a Volvo Certified Collision Center literally minutes from the dealership.

I've already told the service dept to stop work and I'm sending a formal complaint to management. But before I do — what would you do in my shoes? Anything I'm not thinking of? Realistic outcomes I should push for? Appreciate any advice.

Do these mondeo rims fit my car?

Hi there!
Nearly a month ago bought this used wheels set on FB from a guy who used it as rims for his Ford Mondeo and they fit my car because of the same wheelbase on these Volvo and Ford cars
There is my winter (All-season tyres) tires set on the last photo but decided to change them for the summer ones
What do you think bout them? Do they look good on the car or not?

First things to do to a used s60?

I'm planning on getting a first gen s60r within the next year or so. I'd like to prepare myself well in advance as I don't know the most about cars. The car will probably be in the 100,000-160,000km range(60,00-100,000 miles) and an automatic. What are the things I should look out for and do to the car after purchasing? Assuming all was well during the pre-purchase inspection.

S60 original sport suspension - questions

So I have my '03 (MY'04) S60 for about 17 years now and she is a very reliable car. Most of the Service was done by Volvo, but some things I fixed myself. That was also the case when the rear springs of the suspension where cracked. I got a nearly complete, original and barely used suspension system off of ebay and replaced just the springs back then.

Just some months ago I had to replace the bump stops and a dust boot in the front. The bolts of the now 23 year old shock absorber wouldn't want to come off easy. The shock absorber also leaked just from a short burst of the impact wrench. So I decided to swap the whole suspension with the one that I bought earlier.

Now, down to business: The rear springs, which I replaced a few years ago, are looking very rusty, and I'd like to replace them as well. Does anyone know if there are still new springs that would match the original ones? The Volvo part number is 12060004 I guess, but they where manufactured by Sachs when my information is correct.

I could also ask the local dealer, because I hope to get the original roof rack and wanted to ask if it makes sense to install a trailer hitch as well. Could also be a bad idea with the lower Volvo, but perhaps I could take the bikes with me on a trip.

Wind noise

Hi all. Recent owner of a 2023 s60 t8. I have been hearing a lot of wind noise only coming from my driver side window at speeds above 60 mph when the window is fully closed. The weird thing is on that window whenever I have to close it after having it open it opens itself again briefly and then closing again. Almost like it is readjusting itself. I brought it to the dealer and they recalibrated the window and said if that doesnt work then it is my tints. I bought the car with the tints and only noticed it recently. Additionally it is only on the one side and the the tints are on every window. Anyone have this issue or know what it could be? Thanks!

2019 Volvo S60 - Fuel Pressure Sensor Questions

Has anyone replaced a fuel pressure sensor on an SPA Volvo yet? I have a few questions regarding the replacement of mine, and was hoping someone could help.

My S60 has about 51k miles on it now, and when it sits for 3+ hours, it sometimes takes longer to start. It cranks fine, but on a healthy start it maybe cranks 2 times before it fires. Other times it can take up to 8-9 cranks before it finally runs under its own power. I do not have any engine codes or lights at the present.

I’m suspicious of the fuel pressure sensor, because when I jump in the car and hold the start switch to power position II to force the fuel pump to prime, I can then start it with just 2-3 cranks every time I do this. My plan is to replace the fuel pressure sensor, and the fuel filter while I’m at it just for the peace of mind.

I looked at fuel pressure sensors on RockAuto, but their parts list suggests there is a “Fuel Injector Pressure Sensor” for $103, or they’ve listed a “Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor” for $64. I cross referenced other parts websites and diagrams, but I only see a Fuel Pressure Sensor in the engine bay. Nowhere else do I see any suggestions of a pressure sensor in the fuel tank. The parts on RockAuto look the same, with the only real different appearing to be the brand (VEMO vs GPD).

Does RockAuto simply have the parts listed incorrectly? And does anyone happen to have a better alternative brand for a replacement?

2013 S60 - Check engine light came on, mechanics told me I need to replace the catalytic converter and then the light went away

This past Saturday, my check engine light lit up, so I took it to the shop. When they scanned it, I got the code that says there’s an issue with the catalytic converter and that it’ll need replacing. Mechanics quoted me $3K to fix it (has to be California code converter). Didn’t drive at all Sunday, and now on Monday (yesterday) and today the check engine light has completely disappeared. Driven about 25 miles since it first went away.

My registration needs to be renewed in August, so I have to pass the smog check by then. What do I do here? Is there even an issue at all?

Tire recommendations

Hi all. New to volvo but currently have a 2023 s60 t8 recharge. Its coming time for me to replace the tires [technically only 3 need to be replaced but prob just going to do them all]. Currently running the oem pirelli p zeros however they dont seem to have great traction and looking into other options. I have history with continental dws 06 on my audi and those are great. I have heard those and Michelins are what people get but wanted some recommendations and opinions on what people are running. If you kept the pirellis I'm open to keeping them too. Thanks!

Alarm indicator and infotainment issues

Hi all, today I came back to my car after work and after I started it, the alarm indicator light kept flashing red all the time while driving. At the same time, I exited the parking garage at work and my dashboard and center unit remained in “dark/night mode” as if I were driving in the evening so it was impossible to see anything (it didn’t change automatically to the day mode with the lighter background). I got home and parked outside and did the infotainment reset twice but the same behavior continues. I’m on version 5.1.17. Not sure if the two things are related. Anyone experienced anything like it? Any tips to try without calling Volvo? Thanks!

2024 S60 buggy as hell

Bought a 2024 S60 on March 1st. Higher mileage (54,000/ out of warranty) then I would have liked but my 2013 Lexus was getting up there. Had an 2002 S60 before, and liked it.

But this 2024 has been nothing but buggy since I bought it. The infotainment will be connected to Bluetooth and playing the audiobook or music, but nothing comes out of the speakers.

The driver side mirror just moves randomly when I parked it.

Updated everything. Cleared and reset the keys. It’s just a new glitch every day. I am going to Lexus tomorrow to see about getting out of this thing because I can’t drive this for another 5-10 years with all these minor problems, that I know will be bigger ones down the road.

Paddle shifters?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a 23 s60 black edition. The only drawback is it doesn't have paddle shifters. What years and models, besides the r design have paddle shifters? Thanks

S60 Tyres

Hello!

I own a Volvo S60 2024 AWD and recently noticed the front tyres inner threading was wearing out pretty quick. The volvo dealership recommended I change the front Tyres and get an alignment check for issues.

Now, the current tyres are Continental, but Costco doesn’t sell them. The dealership is quoting a ridiculously high amount compared to the market. How big of a deal is it to have 2 non Continental (likely Bridgestone or Michellin) for the front and keep the Continental on the rear?

Thanks!

Getting a bike in an S60

Probably the most random question in a while, has anyone tried getting a bike (mountain bike/downhill mountain bike preferably) in the back of an S60? Looking at a third generation S60 ~2022/23 and unsurprisingly I've not been able to try with a car on a lot...folding seats is a must for me anyway but just wondering this.
Yes I know I could get a V60/90 but I want the T8 drivetrain and can't afford a T8 wagon!
