What is this stain

Spotted this white stain which to me looks like mould in my vents either side of the centre screen and wondered if anyone else has experienced this. It’s only in these two vents not the rear vents or the outer ones on the dash. It’s an S60 and the aircon is always on unless I turn off the whole HVAC system. Any ideas ?

AC Problem

My AC went out on my 2019 S60, and I’m wondering how common is this issue? Is it every Volvo that has this issue? What are the chances that your Volvo will not have a failing AC?

New S60 2.5T with „problems“/worthy upgrades?

So I already drive a S40 from 2001 with the 1.8(122hp) since 3 years and wanted to upgrade for a few weeks until I found this S60 2.5T from 2004. It has 193.000km on it and needs some maintenance (Sparkplugs, coils, Timing belt+water pump+tensioners, V-belt(„Keilriemen“ in german), tie rod ends and a basic oil+filter change.

I want to change sparkplugs+coils because the engine doesn‘t accelerste smoothly under load, at least thats what the pre-owner said (i couldn‘t test it much, but i felt it just slightly after ~2.000rpm). Any thoughts about this? I know that Volvos are sensitive with their spark plugs (The old ones were NGK Iridium-last pic-, coils are BOSCH).

Do you habe any recommondations of what also to look for/change/upgrade, since I am already working on it for the few weeks? (Except Wheels+suspension).
Thought about BSR Turbo piping, cleaning the PCV, maybe a sporty silencer?

“Blackout” after a few years

Was considering taking it upon myself to black out the emblems/lettering on my 2024 S60. Perhaps even black wheels when I’ll need new tires years from now.

Anyone ever done this?

Feel like a failure

Hi Everyone. I have a 2005 S60 2.5T, simply refuses to start. Only 1 error code. P0079. Can this cause my car not to start?

Drivers side air vent very weak. compared to other vents.

Recently purchased a ‘24 Volvo S60 core and have noticed that the driver side air vent next to the infotainment screen is very weak. Almost nonexistent. Is this normal for these cars or should I get it checked. Still under warranty so if something’s wrong, it should be covered.

Object stuck in headlight?

It looks like a clip or something that came loose inside the headlight. Anyone ever experience this or have any insight on how to get it out?

Advice needed: Buying a used Volvo S60

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the market for a used Volvo S60 and would love some advice from this community.

My budget is between $17k and $24k. Since I want to make a reliable purchase, I have a few questions:

  1. Year & Mileage: Within this budget, what year and mileage range should I prioritize? Are there specific years I should avoid or look for (e.g., T5 vs. B5 powertrains)?

  2. Extended Warranty: Is it worth purchasing an extended warranty from the dealer? Or is it better to set that money aside for potential repairs?

  3. Maintenance: For an S60 in this price range, what are the key things I should check in the service history?

I'd appreciate any tips or personal experiences you can share. Thanks in advance!

Is it worth it?

I'm so close in pulling the trigger on this one. My only concern is the 77,000 miles it has. It was a fleet vehicle that's why the high mileage. It's certified by Volvo plus the dealership offers lifetime warranty

Why volvo s60

I really want an s60 but I'm curious how the car compares to an Audi A4 or BMW 3 series? Any past owners of either car? Why did you choose the s60?

I'm pretty sure I'm never going to get an Audi or BMW but I guess I'm just worried if I spend £20-30k if I'm missing out on anything choosing the s60 over either of its competitors.

T8 Center Console and Hwy Range

Hi all,

I’ve been looking at an S60 T8 for a few years now and I’m finally getting close to scoring one, hopefully by the end of the year and I’ve got a couple questions.

In terms of the center console, with it being as deep as basically a pack of playing cards, I’m wondering how T8 owners utilize it, and what you guys do about the lack of storage from the battery.

My commute to work is 20 miles total, primary highway, wondering if using hybrid or pure would be economical for that? I’ve seen it’s a good idea to hold the battery during highway drives but I think they mean more lengthy drives. Surely it’s fine for that commute but I figure I’d see what you guys think.

Also for level 1 charging it comes with, how long give or take does it take to go from 0-100? I feel like it won’t be very often that I deplete the whole battery but I know level 1 is lengthy compared to level 2 but I live in an apartment that I don’t think will accommodate level 2.

Thanks!

Spa Volvo s60 T6 Custom Intake

Hey guys, I just bought a 2019 s60 and I love it but I want more intake noise. I know there are off the shelf cold air intakes you can buy for the car but they’re stupid expensive to get where I’m at. Does anyone have any experience with making their own intake? I’m thinking about just buying a high quality cone filter and just putting that on the end of the intake pipe. My one predicament is figuring out what to do about the MAF sensor.

Please let me know if y’all have any suggestions.

Thanks!

V50 to S60 CC; Yes, Oil… I Know

My lovely 07’ V50 with 195,000 miles needed to be turned in for parts. I had the classic sunroof drainage problem, the electrical system was on the fringe and among a number of other issues (happy to talk in more detail there, drove that car 130k miles myself and kept it up!) it had to go.

Due to a number of circumstances, my budget and time, I was lead to a clean title 2016 S60 CC. Yes, it’s the T5, inline 5 cylinder with a chassis number in the piston ring flaw group.

The car has 68,800 miles on it. It was garage kept and the car is clean as can be. It has not had any major work done, and the maintenance record is great (mostly Volvo dealerships).

I know, the piston ring issue can occur at any point. However, I really need to get 20,000 miles out of this car over the next 3-4 years. Is there anything I can do to reduce my chances of having something go majorly wrong? I’ve driven the car about 700 miles with no noticeable reduction in oil level. I’ve checked the tail pipes and no oil.

Thanks for any help!
