Kramgasse in the Old City of Bern, Switzerland, looking toward the historic Zytglogge

If you are planning a trip to Switzerland, you must add Bern to your list. Most people only go to the mountains, but this historic city is so beautiful. Walking on these stone streets and seeing the ancient towers makes you feel like you traveled back in time.

I love walkable cities.

I love the way they look. I love that they feel more relaxed. I love that there’s less pollution.

But lately with gas prices going up and cars becoming more computerized it feels more and more invasive to have a car. Walkable cities seem so much more independent.

I wish cities would move towards less car dependence.
