NightShift

When you ask Siri to turn night shift on, it declines and says it’s not available. But, if you push back and say “yes it is”, Siri hallucinates an option that doesn’t actually work or exist.

Also, I didn’t get a picture but Siri turned on an orange light on the back of my watch (it mixed green and red)

Super strange!

Weather app displaying incorrect Current Location

Since the launch of watchOS 26, there has been a bug on the watch where it shows your current location within just the Weather app as something different from your actual location. There are threads here on Reddit as well as Apple‘s support communities and even MacRumors with others commenting on the issue.

• GPS location is accurate in other apps on the watch like the Maps app.

• When asking Siri, it responds using the correct location.

• Smart Stack widgets and complications use incorrect location.

• Issue persists after restart, forced restart, toggling location settings on paired iPhone, and even un-pairing and re-pairing the device.

I’ve submitted the issue using the Feedback app on my iPhone but it’s showing zero similar reports.

Has anyone experienced this, installed the watch OS beta, and found the issue to be resolved?

PSA You can go to the Apple Store to downgrade wOS

Went to the Apple Store today to downgrade my watch firmware from 27 beta to 26 public release.
The entire process took about 30 minutes after waiting for 20 minutes to be helped
Was an easy experience, however, they need to downgrade your phone software as well.
Decided to remove it because of the horrendous Siri experience on the watch.

Get it done before public release of 27 in the coming weeks.

Anyone else finding Siri incredibly slow on Watch OS B5?

On my AW Ultra 2, Siri was quite snappy in previous betas, but in OS beta 5 it's now taking 6 - 8 seconds between the Siri command and actually doing what it's been asked to do.

Anyone else noted this? I have reported to Apple.

Seeing notifications of low battery too late

My apple watch always runs out of battery exactly when I need it, either before bed or when I prepare to run. I don't get any notifications on the phone when it gets low batter and I don't see (?) the notifications on the watch. I need help with this.

  1. Can I get the notifications on the phone? Or iMac?

  2. Can I set a shortcut to get notifications at 30% battery (or higher?)

  3. Can I set a sound for the notifications?

Thank you in advance.

Fitness app suddenly tracking less?

Before I updated my Watch 10 to IOS 27 beta, my workout tracking on the Watch was 100 to 200m off from the treadmill. Not a big deal but since Monday (maandag in the screenshot) it went down compared previous indoor walking workout. I always do the same 35m walk at speed of 5.

As you can today (vandaag at the screenshot) I did 1,72km (1.07M) and on the photo I took ok the treadmill which went to miles showed 1,53 miles which is roughly around 2,48km (today I had the speed on 4 due the heavy legday). This is an 700m difference compared before the beta.

My question is, has anyone experienced the same thing on the beta?

Don't let this happen to you!

I had this experience so thought it was worth posting in order that others don't succumb to the same fate.

A couple years ago, I sent my Apple Watch in to have a new battery installed as its battery capacity had dropped below 80% and I had Apple Care+ which qualified the Watch for a free battery replacement. ("Free Battery Replacement" means the Apple Repair Center exchanges your Watch with a refurbished unit that looks brand new.)

Unknown to me, before Apple will even think about giving you your battery replacement they will update your Apple Watch to the LATEST WatchOS and THEN recheck the battery capacity. I assume that's to see if the capacity jumps back up to 80% or above and they can then deny the free new battery request.

Anyway, Apple service updated my Watch, the battery capacity was still below 80%, so I got my new battery. Great, right? WRONG!

I had a perfectly functioning iPhone with a new battery. But the iPhone was old enough that it did not support the latest version of iOS. When Apple service updated my Apple Watch to the newest version of WatchOS they made my iPhone incompatible with my Apple Watch. You can't pair an iPhone running an older version of iOS with an Apple Watch running a newer corresponding version of WatchOS.

Despite talking to more Apple staff at my local Apple Store than I've had hot dinners in the past two years, they said they could not take my Apple Watch and downgrade it to the previous version of WatchOS nor would the Apple Repair center downgrade its WatchOS to the previous version.

The only solution that would allow me to still be able to use my Apple Watch was to buy a new iPhone, or a used iPhone, running the latest version of iOS.

Maybe someone with better negotiating skills could have got the Apple staff to do more than say, "We're sorry." But again, I thought this was worth posting as we close in on the fall and the release of new versions of all Apple operating systems.

Anyone else having Siri issues on the Series 9?

I know it's not the latest and greatest, but the new Siri on this thing just seems ridiculously slow.

Anyone else having similar issues?
