I was very hard to satisfy, it is my first rep and I felt in love, VSF V3 from Lichen, full chamfering/polishing (case & bracelet) and rehaut polishing.
I think it is perfect honestly.
It is so comfortable.
Lichen was very patient with me and very kind, answered fast, at the beginning I wanted to keep it for me but his work is so good !

Just wanted to share that I had a Cartier panthere posted for the wife by Lichen and leave a quick review.

The whole process was absolutely amazing. I’ve bought from a total now of 14 different dealers and this was by far near the top.

Very responsive, quick on the turnaround. And sent a really nice video walking me through it, different angles, and ensured everything turned out well. I am currently now inquiring for a custom build but just wanted to say, if you’re having any doubts that Lichen is the guy. Here are some photos of the finished results. I noticed on camera it looks a bit “cheesier” than it really is in real life. I was a bit afraid about the color matching, but it really does look great and an amazing gold color in real life. I’ve had some work done by jaws and this is by far the closest and even on par with Jaws plating.

Herewith I want to share my latest project showing a hand painted dial by me.

I chose a snake in combination with oranges as a classic Italian design. This is already one of my favs as the small hands go perfectly with the colors dial.

Many times I’ve wanted to throw in the towel, but after each dial made and painted, I managed to keep going… and learning.

Factory : RCF w/ custom Lapis Lazuli Dial
Gold Plated 184 grams

Picked up this beautiful 40m submariner recently and was actually quite impressed with the dial . One thing I love about rcf is they have the best gold plating out of the factory and of course the weight .

Will be upgrading this crystal and the date wheel , so I wanted to ask the community for their opinion on the route I should go with on the datewheel

I’ve seen some of the older models with this dial with the “champagne” datewheel so I’m interested in going that route

I’m just an ordinary college student from China, majoring in kinesiology and sports science. I train every day as an athlete and come from a very average family. I’ve loved watches for six years, but I’ve never had the budget for expensive tools or high-end factory equipment.

I started watch modding completely from zero. I had nothing at first, so I slowly researched, compared, and collected affordable Chinese alternative tools one by one. Every polisher, buff wheel, ultrasonic cleaner, precision clamp, and tiny file in my setup is a budget-friendly substitute that I saved up to buy myself. There were no teachers, no workshops, and no professional guidance. Every skill and technique I have was learned through trial and error right on my small dorm desk.

During the day I attend classes and do physical training. Late at night, this tiny workspace becomes my personal garage watch studio.

Most casual mods only focus on exterior polishing and visual upgrades, but I always wanted to refine the harder, hidden parts. I spent most of my time carefully hand-finishing inner sharp corners, hidden dead angles, and internal chamfers on the movement bridges. These tiny inner areas are extremely difficult to work on — the space is tight, the angle is tricky, and one small mistake can ruin the whole bridge.

I practiced patiently, controlled my hand steadily, and smoothed every sharp factory edge. All original rough machine-cut corners were slowly refined into clean, uniform, soft hand-polished chamfers with a subtle cloud-bridge texture.

This is my version of garage build culture. It’s not about expensive gear or big budgets. It’s purely about time, patience, and obsession with small details.

This watch is fully hand-built by me around a Hangzhou ST6498 movement. I completed every process personally: full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, internal and external chamfer polishing, cloud bridge finishing, time calibration, and final assembly.

It is not a luxury watch, but every hidden inner corner and refined angle represents real student effort, consistent practice, and genuine handmade craft.

Decided to show some more appreciation for the mod 🐐 . This was my first Daytona and I was quite impressed with the overall construction of the vsf panda . When I was reading the reviews there was a big debate between btf and vsf in regards to the bezel , dial and bracelet . I decided to go with the vsf because the pros outweighed the cons and whatever flaws the vsf had I know I can eventually get customized if needed with li chens parts

The ceramic bezel ring from vsf was very good straight out of the factory , but based on my experience with Lichen’s parts in the past , I figured that regardless his parts would be a little better and I was happy I made this decision !

The lettering is deeper , bolder ,brighter , richer

That’s prob the best word to use when dealing with lichen . Everything tends to look so much richer .

Eventually I’ll come back around to upgrade the dial

Meteorite DD custom
18k gold-plated version, Cal. 3255 integrated movement. Upgraded and modified with CNC steel bezel and CVD-certified inlaid at the edge. The genuine meteorite dial reflects different patterns of meteorite lines depending on the angle of light. The dial hands and indexes are set with D-color T-square moissanite. Thick 18k white gold plating, and the entire watch weighs about 210 grams
