Archive.is/Archive.ph/Archive.today seems to be having some issues the past few days, but seems to work better in Chrome, at least for some archived pages. Tried a few different DNS resolvers in Windows but none made a difference for Waterfox. Is it a Cloudfare issue or something else that can be fixed?
After the latest waterfox update, youtube just doesn't play videos anymore. Instead there's just an empty space where the video should be. It's like this for every video, I have to switch browsers to watch youtube at all.
In the previous Waterfox Android update the option "Install extension from file" suddenly disappeared. There were two posts about it here and since many days I was waiting for the next update.
Today the next update came and the option is still missing!
Why? In Firefox Android it is there as always.
So, please bring it back.
Please!
I can't see a way to do this... is this possible with Waterfox? Many thanks in advance...
I'm unable to access FaceTime or Zoom when using Waterfox for PC or mobile. For FaceTime, the browsers tell me to use Edge or Chrome. For Zoom, it says that I need to be on Chrome 91.
Will there be support for FaceTime and Zoom in the future?
Which video conferencing apps are supported by Waterfox?
Or are there options that need to be tweaked on my end?
As of this morning, my phone will simply not sync with the Mozilla server so my tabs and stuff doesn't show on my other devices.
Anybody know what's going on because it was working last night?
I heard about this about a week or two ago and I have returned to enjoying YouTube. This browser has been great, but all of a sudden it says YouTube won’t load because I’m using an ad blocker. I checked and Waterfox is up to date. Is there anything I can do? Thanks!
I am logged into Waterfox all the time on my desktop and I want to copy my profile and then paste it into the Waterfox browser on a new laptop or be able to activate it. I cannot log into Waterfox on the laptop because I forgot my password due to the long time I have been logged in on the desktop. Do I need to log into Waterfox on the laptop in order to select my profile or can I transfer all my bookmarks and passwords to the laptop by copying my profile there from the desktop without logging in ? Thanks
Android settings for background battery and data are disabled. Keep awake and run in background permissions denied via AppOps. About:config settings to turn off fission are also ignored. It even circumvents shizuku's hail & icebox automatically freeze when screen turns off. No tabs open, no extensions enabled, all sync settings disabled, and completely signed of the mozilla account.
Please refrain from the "let Android manage it" comments. This app is the #1 consumer of battery on my phone and I only use it for the occasional web search. I simply do not want this app to run non stop on my phone.
Pixel 7 pro, unrooted, and fully up to date.
UPDATE: I figured it out. WaterFox no longer runs in the background consuming battery.
Hi all, I can't seem to find the way to disable the new native adblocker to go back to uBlock Origin. I remembered I followed a post here, tweaking some about:config prefs, to enable it, and now I can't find it anymore. The new native adblock is all right, but not as powerful as uBo, and I need to go back to uBo. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi, I'm Jas!
For starters, I'm using the latest stable version of Waterfox 6.6.16 on Windows 11.
I'm a bit new to more private browsers eg FF forks like Waterfox, so I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to browsers other than Chrome, but I'm very tech keen otherwise.
The issue at hand is that I'm unable to watch shows on eg HBO. I'm able to watch most stuff but when trying to watch on HBO I'm met with the error message provided in the screenshot in this post, and I don't know what to do??

I've tried the following:
- toggling the hardware acceleration on and off
- restarting my PC
- restarting the browser itself
- recreated the issue on 2 different PC:s that were using all the same versions/setting and alike
- searched the web for answers from people who've had similar/the same experiences, all to no avail
Pls help 😵💫
I just wanted to highlight and tip my hat to Alex for doing his best to keep Waterfox alive with partnerships.
There are some opinions and criticism about Qwant, main one seems to be them defaulting to have AI results enabled by default.
I came across a mention on the latest Waterfox release notes which I think shows that Alex is listening to users and knows his users.
>Attempts to force Qwant AI answers/summaries to disabled by default.
Key is attempts, which is admirable and I think aligns with what Waterfox is.
More importantly we need to remember that the scaffolding is Firefox so it is very easy to change and add search engines if you need to.
Add or remove a search engine in Waterfox
Manage my default search engines in Waterfox for Android
If you can donate considering doing so. I'm sure every little bit helps and is appreciated.
I'm kinda confused if DRM actually works with waterfox because anytime I go to website like crunchyroll there will be a bar on top saying installing components needed for video and audio but it never installs. when checking the add-ons manager Windevine and OpenH it says will install but doesn't? Is there a way to force it or anything? I have tried restarting the browser, I just updated it too.
An acquaintance of mine tried to make me consider using something else like vivaldi or brave but I simply said nah no thanks because waterfox already does everything I need it to do, lol. Never had a reason to switch to something else.
This is what I see when I right-click on anything in the Save to... area, any file, all the text that used to be there, is gone.
This wasn't a problem in 6.5.11.

After talking to the developers at Stardock, about using WindowBlinds with Waterfox/Firefox, problem persists with both browsers, it comes down to editing the registry so that WindowBlinds can bypass Waterfox/Firefox blocking of their DLL file.

But editing the registry in such a way can cause problems with WindowBlinds in other ways.
Is there any way you could please remove the DLL blocking?
Thank you.
Coming from Firefox, where I had uBlock Origin, which had a built-in "element picker" for easily blocking content. I never really used this except for on Steam, since the background image on game pages causes massive slowdown.
I was trying to figure out if there's something similar in Waterfox but haven't had much luck, and it keeps advising not installing uBlock Origin over/along the integrated ad blocker.
For clarification, this is all I had to add as filtered/blocked content to get Steam pages running smoothly again. Is there a way to just copy/paste this somewhere into Waterfox?

Clearing Cookies seems to fix it, but that's annoying to do every time it stops working. It seems to be working fine on Firefox, but I also don't use Firefox as my main so I'm not sure if it would stop working.
