I am senior from HIT and I know you guys have already locked your choices but still this may help you all frame or edit your choice filling list

1. Ragging - YES THERE IS RAGGING

seniors are not allowed in Hostel . Hostels are there for freshers only and from 2nd year you will have to take PG or flat rent outside the college. so seniors usually come and stand below the hostel tea shop ( or canteen) and as soon as any fresher passes by they harrash them. some 4th year seniors even enter hostel room and harrash them ask money to enroll in club, college events or buy football match departmental jerseys even if you're not playing ( fan version ofc ). they will make you write assignments and projects.

2. GANGWAR - Yes even murders.

every 6 months there is murder ( literally) and everyday someone has to go the nearby hospital because kisine uska sar for diya daru ka bottle marke. sir forna is like daily ritual .college is very lenient in case of Bihari student because 90% market is because of them ofc they wont act on them.. khudka business chall raha hay kyu hi karenge. There are 6-7 gangs which even do money laundering for political parties to earn money. Stay away from money laundering and all they will try to lure you into that

3. Local vs Outsiders - Locals rule the college ( local supremacy)

99% times koi matter hota hay its among the student from bihar and college wo sab matter me ghuske sort out krta hay.
BUT NOBODY MESSES WITH LOCALS agar ekbar koi matter me local ghus gaya then pura murder krke hi chorega and college bhi bachane nhi aata coz college ko shanti se chalne nhi dega. POLITICS it is. It has happened may times that a 4th final year student Hawabaazi me 1st year local ko kuch krdiya and next day uska baap and club members or political parties members ne aake 4th year ka murder krke fek diya and nothing happens. college will not intefere. so just stay away from LOCALS they have their own union and its worst than anything tuhmhare outsiders dost bhi nhi bacha payenge jo bolenge " bhai tu kr hum tere saath hay ".

4. PLACEMENTs - CSE/ECE ke liye mat aoo !! ONLY ME/EE/AEIE/CHEM/CIVIL has placement

as Haldia is industrial area no IT or software companies come here and those who come not more than 4 LPA literally half of the fees you will be paying lol.
ECE ke students bhi IT me hi jaate hay and ECE ka crowd is very baad 5 batches of total 500+ students. bahut kharab scene hay CSE and ECE ka
ME/EE/CHE mainly run this college and its reputation

SOLUTIONS

1. Have connection with senior they might be able to save you from ragging and beatings. You can contact me I know a guy who is local student in HIT and he helps freshers from ragging and all but He won't help everyone of you only those he thinks need help will be helped ( HE is LOCAL too btw ) so you can DM i will maybe try to get you in touch with him or if you have your own connections then its fine but for those who dont have anyone can contact me feel free to dm, My friend might help you ( message him on discord xerosymbiote_69 )
2. Dress yourself properly. NO BELT. TIE always . FORMAL SHOES no sports shoes or chelsea or anything. CAMPUS ME HALF PANT ME DIKHA MAT JANA SENIOR PAKAD KE PEET DENGE
3. 1 saal ke liye apna EGO apne andar rakhna warna bura fas joage, aur local aaagya phir toh khatam hi samjho college bhi nhi bacha payega.
4. sometimes you will be needed to write their assignments so just do it. jaisa bolenge krdena jayda idhr udhr mat krna khud hi fas joage. jaisa bole 1 saal ki baat hay krdena uske baad 2nd year se koi dikkat nhi hya
5. Seniors ko greet krna ( good morning, good evening) and SIR NICHE HAATH PICHE jab bhi baat krna ho.
6. Try krna hamesha group me rehna akele pakde gaye campus me toh dikkat hoga and "GUNGCHILL" naam ka ek canteen hay usko jitna ho sake avoid krna
7. udhr sirf seniors.

Whats the avg placement ctc and placement rate in hit kolkata?

Need 17,600 volunteers (SERIOUS) Guys, my rank is around 17.6k. If everyone above me disappears for just one day (preferably counselling day), I can get JU CSE. I'm not asking anyone to do anything illegal. I'm just saying... a statewide picnic sounds nice.😈🤧

Like I changed my choice prefference but

When I want to check the pdf

But pdf is not changed it's older one

Why ??

I HAVE 2K GMR AND NOT ELIGIBLE FOR JU CU due to nios

So i want i college life checked kgec jgec are totally like a village school and fests college life are like villagers

So atleast hit tmsl have college life and i can afford the fees and placemnet are same in kgec jgec mass recuriters so i am confused now i want a college life atleast

Hi everyone,

I was going through the WBJEE 2026 choice filling portal and noticed that University of Calcutta is not available in the list of colleges.

According to last year's WBJEE cutoffs, the University of Calcutta had admissions under the WBJEE quota. However, I can't find the college or the branch in this year's choice filling portal.

Is anyone else facing the same issue?

• Has the University of Calcutta withdrawn from WBJEE counselling this year?
• Could this be a temporary portal issue that might get updated later?

If anyone has any official information or has contacted WBJEEB or the university, please share it here.
