Last minute Decision

My first ever post on this app but I think I need as much consultation on this as I can get. I’m split between WIT and UMass, I’m leaning towards here but what can you guys let me know about? I’m studying engineering, transferring in with an Associate’s and I feel like the Co-ops will make going to WIT but UMass is just so much more appealing in so many ways.

Unfurnished. I'll help you pick up a bed frame, mattress and desk from move-out sales - about $120 sets a room up. Happy to do the runs together.

Utilities are NOT included (electricity, heat, water/sewer, rubbish). Split evenly between us. Budget roughly $50-70 each in mild months and noticeably more in deep winter. I'll forward every bill as it arrives - no markup, no admin fee, you see exactly what I see.

One bathroom shared between everyone. Being upfront so nobody is surprised in September.

💰 Move-in: first + last month only - $1,700 total, no security deposit.

🛒 Nubian Square shops, restaurants and Dudley St - short walk

🅿️ On-street parking with a Boston resident permit

Looking for people who want a clean, quiet, respectful apartment for the year - food preference no issue, no smoking inside.

No spring commencement

As many of you may know, there will be no more Spring Commencements starting in 2027. This was done because the school did. it want to book out MGM for two separate days. The issue with this is that while this is great for the school, it’s awful for us students. Many of us students are from out of state, international, or have family who will be traveling. Many students may not be able to attend their own graduation because of these issues. This school cares more about saving any dollar they can whilst simultaneously screwing over their students. They’re literally advertising that families should park in Halleck then walk to MGM. The higher ups at this school haven’t thought out how their 10 year plan actually affects students and it shows. But hey, here’s a Dunkin (right next to our rodent infested dining hall) to take your mind off of that
