I applied for my first Australian Working Holiday visa on 17 June and I’m still waiting for a decision. I’ve also completed my health assessment, but the status is still showing as “Received”.

I’m from Denmark and supposed to be in Australia in just 3 days for an au pair position I’ve already secured.

Is anyone else in the same situation or applied around the same time? And is there anything I can do to get an update or move things along?

Would anyone be crazy enough to do this trip with me? 🇦🇺🚗

Before my visa ends, I’m thinking about doing one last big road trip around Australia.

The plan is: Gold Coast → Adelaide → Perth → Broome → Darwin → Cairns → back to Gold Coast, around 15,000–20,000 km in 3 months.

I have a Toyota Yaris 2007 and I’m planning to set it up with a rooftop tent, small fridge, gas stove and basic camping gear.

My rough solo budget is $5,000–6,000 AUD: around $2,500–3,000 fuel, $1,300–1,800 food, and the rest for gas, showers, laundry, national parks and small expenses.

Has anyone done something similar with a small car? Do you think the budget and plan are realistic?
