My new witch house EPs are out. Feedback appreciate

Hey everyone!

I'm witchmxde, an independent witch house producer from Kazakhstan.

After months of work, I finally released two EPs. They blend dark atmospheres, distorted textures, heavy bass and emotional melodies. If you're into classic witch house, dark ambient or experimental electronic music, you might enjoy them.

I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback—good or bad.

Thanks for listening

At what point do we admit witch house has a community problem?// В какой момент мы признаем, что у witch house проблемы с сообществом?

I’m genuinely pissed off watching what’s happening to this genre. We have what feels like one active Discord, and it’s barely even about witch house anymore. Every discussion gets hijacked by adjacent scenes while actual witch house artists and producers barely have a place to connect.** **And when there was an actual witch house artist in the server, things became so hostile that he ended up leaving. Whether you agreed with him or not, that’s embarrassing for a genre this small.

How is witch house supposed to survive if we can’t even maintain one space that’s actually dedicated to it? We need more artists making witch house, more people releasing music, more mixes, more labels, more collaborations, more discussion, and more people actually contributing to the genre instead of constantly dragging the conversation somewhere else. If we don’t build it ourselves, nobody else is going to. The scene isn’t going to save itself.

If you’re serious about making or pushing witch house forward, I’d love to put together a group chat or Discord with people who actually want to collaborate, share music, give feedback, and help keep the scene alive. I’m based in Austin, Texas, so if anyone’s local that’s even better, but I’m happy to connect with people from anywhere. If enough people are interested, I’ll make one.

And yes, I’m talking about witch house. Not every dark or horror-inspired genre under the sun. If your idea of witch house consists of Sematary, this post probably isn’t for you. I’m looking for people who actually want to preserve, expand, and contribute to witch house itself.

No artists. No scene.

Preserve the Ritual

—————————————

WH IS COMING BACK???

This genre seems to have what it takes to make a comeback, but it's not happening. It seemed to me like something was moving. I saw Crystal Castles going viral on TikTok, and with SWS becoming famous, and Salem releasing an album and a compilation, but it remained superficial. Will the real witch house return, or will this comeback just be like this, superficial only for those who are already big?
is there only the beautiful part left to showcase?

any [ mainly sad ;) ] witchhouse experts here? whats ur most supportive opinion u want to share with people thats beginning to make witchhouse ?

to be honest ive only been making electronic music for a few years .. im a self taught musician for the majority of my life, i cant read sheet music, i dont know music theory, i just make music based on my emotions, trauma and feelings. i think most of my music explores witchhouse in a bit of a different way, thats why i really want to build this community to make witchhouse be explored in an atypical and veeery vulnerable way :3

my dream to perform this song live

idk if u can count it witchhouse but this is an example of something a bit outside of the genre yet theres one thing connecting with it, the emotion. i loved exploring different ways to use my voice in this song from lowering the pitch of my humming to singing in whispers and to screaming :3
also the subject about christianity is extremely important to me. theres a lot of trauma and ptsd that i have from experiencing it..
