Body+ syncing issues

I’m weighing in and everything keeps saving to my wife’s profile. She has her own Withings account that I invited, so I can’t see the data to reassign it. I also don’t have arrows to change the profile when I’m weighing in. It just automatically saves to her profile with no choice. We have wildly different body compositions, so I don’t understand 1) why this is happening 2) how to fix it

Inbody (H20), Withings (Body Smart, Body Fit) and Renpho (MorphoScan) vs. Dexa

As the title suggests, I compared 4 scales to a Dexa scan this week.

TLDR: the Body Smart came closest to the Dexa (in terms of body fat %), with the Body fit and Inbody (H20) with the greatest variance, the Renpho was closer, but also least consistent

In summary, I'll be keeping the Body Smart for now and returning the Body Fit and Renpho (both inside their 30 day return window) and continue to monitor / evaluate other alternatives.

Results

Dexa: 169.1 / 21.7%

Inbody - H20: 170.1 / 17.4%*

Body Smart: 170.6 / 19.4%

Body Fit: 170.5 / 17.5%*

Renpho Morphoscan Nova: 170.5 / 18.0%
*average of three readings

Background

Inbody H20 - I already had this scale since 2021, I've been using it to track over time, but I've been looking to see if I can find something that better aligns to Dexa, as you can see from the results in came in with the greatest variance (note I had also tried the H40 - and that was producing results even lower, in the 14-15% body fat range, so I returned it)

Withings - Body Smart - I bought this almost a month ago and have been using it daily, the results are consistent day over day (relative to itself and my expectations based on exercise, eating etc.) as you can see in the tests, it was the most consistent over 3 sequential weigh ins

Withings - Body Fit - thought I would try this given that it is new and should compare to the existing Body Scan re the technology, consistent to itself (like the Body smart), but large variance

Renpho - MorphoScan Nova Body - never tried one of their products before, figured I would give it a spin relative to the others, also read that others had indicated it came close to Dexa for them, not only was this also off by a decent amount, it had some really weird readings to start that I disregarded (and had to test with this one for 5x to get it to a more "normal" state / in line with others)

The protocol

All the tests were done about 45 minutes before the Dexa scan, first thing when I woke up on an empty stomach (645-650 am). Which is when I normally weigh in so I had a baseline of almost a month of data on the Body Smart

I put all four scales in a row and just weighed my self one after another, taking three measurements each to get an average weight and body fat % to compare to the Dexa - Scale 1, then Scale 2, then Scale 3, Scale 4 then back to Scale 1 etc. - 12 total measurements (except 2 extra on the Renpho that were way off)

The dexa scan was done at 7:30 am in the morning, still on an empty stomach. Important to note that I did a Dexa scan a little over a month ago and the comparison between the two Dexa scans was very close / inline with expectations given activity level and nutrition over that period. (170.61 vs 169.07 lbs and 22 vs 21.7% body fat)

Hope this helps others make a comparison - I found it intellectually fun, but disappointing

As stated above, I'll keep the Body Smart for now because its the cheapest and simple and continue to evaluate other alternatives going forward

What do they mean by '99% correlation with DEXA'?

Have you looked at the graph on the Withings site...?

https://wcs.withings.com/fr/fr/blog/recherche/body-scan-dexa-scan-correlation

When a user sees '99% correlation' they are likely to assume that means if your dexa says 15% body fat, the Withings is going to be that +/- 1%, right?

But look at the graph here, it says that green area is +/- 4kg, and you can clearly see there are readings on the edges or even outside that, meaning they are more than 4kg out, even down at the 10kg area, which means at that point it was more than 40% out!!!

It may well track broadly in the same direction, but when the fat mass is showing that much discrepancy it is very misleading to claim 99% correlation.

[Edit - additional thoughts]

Looking at tis critically, it seems to only be saying that 99% of the time it's within +/- 4kg - which is a HUGE variance compared to DEXA.

For example: at my last DEXA I was 81kg, 13.1kg fat (16.1%).

If we allowed the +/- 4kg from Withings, the body scan results could have been between 9 and 17kg of body fat, which would have been a range of 11.2% - 21% body fat, i.e. absolute garbage results in real terms, but still within their apparently 99% correlation.

I'd really like someone from Withings to comment on this and set us straight, as their own promotional material definitely doesn't stand up to a little scrutiny here.

Scale spontaneously exploded

Heard a noise from the bathroom and saw that the scale blew up. There’s glass all over the place. Anyone else have this happen? We’ve had the scale for years without any issues and now I’m hesitant to get a replacement.

BodyFit Issues

OK now I’m having issues with the BodyFit scale not working. It worked the first time I got on it and it hasn’t worked since. It just keeps saying errors with comp, or something like that. Really not impressed with this scale at all. Is the body scan 2 any better? Should I hang on and assume it’ll get working soon? I don’t mind spending a lot of money on a scale, but only if it WORKS.

I just got the Body Scan 2 limited launch email for the US.

Links in the email don't work though. They just bring me to the regular store.

Issues with Body Fat on new scales Body Scan 2 poll

Sorry but after 17 days when the scale was barely available and even less the ones who buy a 500 euros scale and would also be Reddit users....

and yet already over 2 weeks i just saw quite a few posts about innacurate Body Fat, not like 1 or 2 difference but a 10% difference at least or even 3% and 4% which is impossible

After seeing so many posts already with Body Fat issues i feel the "very small number of users" that the Withings claims is not that small and masked under their direct support that people will not even see it here in Reddit

From their comments:

"Hello! We are working on this issue that has affected a very small number of users and hope to have this
solved very soon as well."

How many bought a Body Scan 2 and saw a really big difference on Body Far for some previous scale and even impossible values?

Hardware Quality Question

I just purchased the BodyFit. Is the Body Scan 2 as flimsy and light as BodyFit? When I pull up the handle the entire scale pulls up off the ground. Feels horribly cheap. That’s not going to work for me so I’m returning it. But is Body Scan the same?? Or do I need to move on to a different brand?

Bodyscan 1 vs BodyFit

Now when there's new bodyscan 2 available i can get old bodyscan same price than this new just released bodyfit.

Which one i should buy, i don't need all the bodyscan measures, i'm interested gym and muscle stuff, so on paper bodyfit is right choice for me. Is build quality better on bodyscan because it's normal price is so much more? Does new bodyfit have better newer tech for improving results, speed etc? I could get bodyscan today. Bodyfit orders here in EU starts next wednesday.

Thanks for the help

Body fit

I upgraded my Bodycomp to a Bodyfit. The new scale has me at 25% BF. Went for a DEXA scan yesterday… came back at a whopping 32% BF!!! Very disappointed is my actual fitness but equally disappointed in the scale.

Returning Body Fit

The results don’t seem credible: +0.5 kg in body weight, -0.8 pp in body fat, and +0.7 pp in muscle mass over just five days while on a cut.

I’m very consistent with my weigh ins. I weigh myself immediately after waking up, at the same time every day and in the same clothes.

Will wait for algos to improve before splurging on an overpriced scale again

BodyFit launch in Europe ?

Multiple news outlets reported that the BodyFit scale will launch today in Europe but that's not the case as of now. Did it get delayed ?

Would you honestly recommend Withings in 2026?

I am looking for a S-tier, in-home consumer smart scale. On paper -- insofar as core specs go -- it seems Withings Body Scan is the obvious choice. After ~15 minutes of research, I am beginning to sense there is substantial discontent with respect to hardware being held back by ecosystem issues. From my limited research, I suspect this friction has not being eased but, rather, has gotten worse over recent years (AKA Enshittification).

Is this true in your experience? Is the scale still worth it given in-home scale comps out there (or lack thereof)?

Terrible Customer Service

It's incredibly frustrating when a company operates with such poor customer service and zero transparency. I ordered a Body Scan 2 a few weeks ago, specifically to track health metrics in preparation for an upcoming surgery. After weeks passed with no shipping updates, I reached out via live chat.
I was gobsmacked to discover the product was entirely out of stock and they couldn't even provide an ETA. When I pointed out that it's unacceptable to sell out-of-stock items without warning the customer, the representative simply cancelled my order-completely ignoring the medical context and urgency I had just explained to them. A shockingly bad experience from start to finish.
Just be careful folks before you order.

GPS not working on Android

I experience almost everytime I go running that the GPS tracking is not working. Just now:

  1. I opened the app at home.
  2. I started a run: "Connected!" the watch says.
  3. I stop the on the watch and then go outside to begin.
  4. I start the run on my watch, it is connected.
  5. After my halfway point 3k down, I stop to check the watch just to see I have moved 0m with a pace of --:--

This is extremely frustrating and I imagine I can not be the only person experiencing this?

Body Scan 2 sync with app

Hi all,

Just got my Body Scan 2.

If I just want a daily weigh-in without the full body scan, shouldn’t just stepping on the scale be enough?

I’ve just done it and it showed me my weight on the actual scale but the value didn’t auto sync to the app on my phone.

Yes I checked and the scale was connected to wifi, phone bluetooth was on and within range.

FWIW, my Eufy scale does this by default and it was £15 🤣 I really hope one of you will just point out that I am an idiot and forgot something and not that this function isn’t included on a £500 scale.

Thanks!

body scan body fat

body scan

body fat---- why does my body scan always show 3% body fat? It never changes. I've had the scale for a couple of weeks now, and it's always 3%, and it's never different. It's not 3.5% or 3.1%. It's always 3%.

Why does it always show 3%? Is the scale broken? Is there something wrong? Should I send the scale back? Should I get a refund? Why is it always 3% body fat? Why not a different percentage?

Please advise. Please explain.

5 lb difference after breakfast

I weigh 202 before breakfast and 197 after breakfast. This is not the first time that happened. Scale remains at the same place.

Impossible to charge

The last charger I had that still worked with this damn watch just died too. Worse, yesterday, while it was charging with the usual charger, I touched the watch and it was burning hot! Genuinely "burn your skin" hot. Scary.

Bought it on November 22, 2025.

Now I get to start the whole RMA process: shipping it back, waiting weeks, and hoping they don’t come back with the classic "we found no issue.". Do you know where to start with this process?

This is actually my second Withings Scanwatch 2. I bought one about about four years ago, had so many problems that I returned it within a week. Then I gave them another chance during last year’s Black Friday sale… if only I had known.

Withings’ quality control is an absolute mess.
