Best UI/UX checkout templates for WooCommerce?

Hey everyone,
I’m working with WooCommerce and I’m looking for good UI/UX focused checkout templates or plugins for faster / cleaner checkouts.
Right now I’m stuck with the default WooCommerce checkout, but customizing it with a lot of HTML/CSS is becoming heavy, messy, and honestly uglier over time 😅
I’m mainly looking for:
modern checkout designs

fast/mobile-first UX

templates/components that are easy to customize

preferably lightweight and not overloaded with scripts

Do you guys have any tips, plugins, GitHub repos, themes, or examples?
Would really appreciate links or recommendations 🙏

Anyone running WooCommerce without Jetpack?

Is anyone here using Jetpack as a must have on WooCommerce sites?

I always assumed it was one of those “default install” plugins people just keep activated, but lately I’m wondering if it’s essentially needed?

I feel many of its feature overlap with features from other plugins, such as backups, CDN, security, image optimisation, analytics etc. so I feel it would add extra plugin bloat/scripts for no real benefit.

I’ve actually left it disabled on one of my sites for a while and genuinely haven’t noticed any difference.

I'm interested to see what others are doing nowadays:
keeping it?
removing it?
only using certain modules?
replacing it with other plugins/services?
Or are you using most of its features?

Would be good to hear from people running active WooCommerce e-commerce stores rather than just general WordPress blogs.

I'm guessing obviously jetpack would have cleaner more above code with less pesky conflicts that other plugins would potentially cause m.

I like to keep my websites simple I use Wordpress, hello theme and Elementor Pro and build up from there with as little plugins as possible.

Jetpack has overlapping features that Elementor provides so I'm trying to avoid overlapping same features or would that not matter when building websites?

Thanks

This sub gets the assignment better than most so I'll be direct.

The no-code movement solved half the problem. You can build almost anything now without knowing how to code, which is genuinely incredible and wasn't true five years ago. But there's still a gap that nobody talks about. Even with the best no-code tools you still have to know which tools to pick, how to connect them, how to write copy that converts, how to set up ad accounts, how to source products, how to structure a funnel. The learning curve didn't disappear, it just moved.

Most people in this sub know exactly what I mean. You've spent a weekend deep in Zapier trying to get two things to talk to each other that should just work. You've rebuilt your Webflow site three times because the first two didn't convert. You've watched your Notion dashboard get more elaborate while the actual business stayed the same size.

That's the gap Locus Founder closes.

You describe what you want to build. The AI handles everything else. It sources products directly from AliExpress and Alibaba (or sell YOUR OWN digital services, products, or content), builds a real storefront around them, writes conversion-optimized copy, then autonomously creates and runs ads on Google, Facebook and Instagram. No Zapier. No Webflow. No piecing together eight tools that half work. Just a running business.

If you don't have an idea yet it interviews you and figures out what makes sense for your situation.

We got into YCombinator this year and we're opening 100 free beta spots this week before public launch. Free to use, you keep everything you make.

For the people in this sub specifically, this isn't a replacement for no-code tools for people who love building. It's for everyone who wanted the outcome but never wanted to become a tools expert to get there. Big difference.

Beta form: https://forms.gle/nW7CGN1PNBHgqrBb8

Happy to answer anything about how it works under the hood.

WooCommerce / surecart quel choix ?

WooCommerce Zendesk Plugin

The Zendesk plugin's user lookup keeps timing out. The query for finding someone by email or last name seems too broad. Anyone else hitting this?

Explanation: The Zendesk plugin calls wc/v3/customers?search=foo, which goes through WordPress's WP_User_Query. That query covers user_login, user_email, user_nicename, user_url, and display_name. First name and last name aren't in there — they live in wp_usermeta, not the main users table, so there's no index.

Search by last name and one of two things happens: nothing comes back because the field isn't searched, or the plugin runs a custom usermeta query and does a full table scan. Either way, on a store with any real volume, it times out.

I got this on a site with 50k+ users and 500k orders.

Klaviyo Ex Vat dynamic pricing

Hey all,

Our UK WooCommerce store displays pricing ex-VAT, and then depending on the customer’s region VAT either gets added or not.

The issue I’m having is with Klaviyo flows/emails using dynamic products, the prices being pulled through are showing ex-VAT only. I’ve already had a couple of unhappy customers complain because the advertised price in the email was lower than what they saw on-site.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time digging through both WooCommerce and Klaviyo settings but can’t seem to find a logical fix for it. I even started thinking about writing a custom script, but I can’t work out exactly which data/source Klaviyo is pulling the pricing from.

Has anyone dealt with this before or found a decent solution?

Any help would be massively appreciated!

Woo app taking too long to update when logged in through store credentials

Hey everyone!

I recently moved from connecting the Woo app through Jetpack to connecting through store credentials, mostly to not slow down my e-shop with Jetpack.

Since then, the app's been much snappier, which is great, but there's a consistent problem:

  • When changing something through the app, mainly product prices or order statuses, the change doesn't become visible in the app until much later. Refreshing seems to otherwise work fine, and new information (eg new orders) shows up instantly. Such changes are the only thing that doesn't refresh properly.
  • The change does go through to the store instantly and correctly. It's just not updated in the app.
  • That's true for multiple phones as well. If I make a change in the app using one phone, it will not update on any other as well.
  • The update goes through sometime and then it shows up correctly, but I haven't timed how long it takes. It's definitely more than a few minutes, probably on the scale of hours.
  • It doesn't happen with every case, but it's often enough (definitely daily).
  • Example: I have an order On Hold and change it to Completed through the app. It is immediately changed to Completed in the actual website, including sending the relevant emails and so on, but the app still shows it On Hold. If I filter out Completed orders, this one will still show up, because the app still thinks it's On Hold.

Anyone else with this issue? Any solutions or workarounds? I've seen the Hippoo app also thrown around a bunch, but I have no idea if it's reliable.

Card testing on WooCommerce checkout is getting bad, what I'm seeing across stores

okay so this has been on my mind for a few weeks. been working with a bunch of woo stores and card testing attacks have picked up noticeably since around march. wanted to share what's going on because most store owners don't even know they're being hit until their payment processor pauses them or chargebacks start rolling in.

quick context for anyone who hasn't dealt with it. card testing is when attackers get stolen card numbers in bulk and they need to figure out which ones still work. so they use your woocommerce checkout as a free validation tool. they hammer your checkout endpoint with small $1-5 orders, see which ones go through, then take the working cards and use them for big purchases elsewhere. you're basically being used as a card validator, and the chargebacks land on you weeks later.

the worst part isn't even the chargebacks. it's when your payment gateway sees the pattern and either holds your funds or shuts you down entirely. had a store owner reach out last month whose stripe got paused for 90 days because of this. they had no idea it was happening until the email came in.

what it looks like in your dashboard:

bursts of small orders, usually $1 to $10. often at weird hours like 2-5am your time. slight variations on the same name and email (john1@, john2@, like that). a bunch of declined transactions in a row followed by a few successful ones. spike in failed payments in your woo logs. sometimes the orders all come from similar IPs, sometimes rotating proxies.

if any of that sounds familiar, you've been tested.

here's what most stores get wrong. they rely on woocommerce's built in fraud checks and maybe an anti-fraud plugin. those are order-level filters. they catch the order after it's been submitted, after the card has already been validated for the attacker. by then the damage is done.

what actually works is blocking the bots before they even hit your checkout. that's the layer most stores skip. couple things that help at the infrastructure level:

a web application firewall in front of your store with bot detection turned on, plus a rate limit rule on your checkout and cart endpoints. something like 5 requests per minute per IP is usually safe (doesn't affect real shoppers, kills automated testers). this single change cuts most card testing dead. most stores already have access to this through their CDN or hosting provider, they just never configured it.

inside woocommerce, look at anti-spam plugins that add honeypot fields to checkout. attackers' bots fill them in, real customers don't see them.

require AVS and CVV matching in your payment gateway settings. lots of stolen cards don't have matching billing addresses, so this knocks out a chunk.

if you're on stripe or a similar processor, turn on their built-in fraud rules and set custom blocks for things like "block if shipping country differs from billing country" or "block if more than 2 orders from same email in 24 hours."

one thing nobody talks about. card testing often happens alongside click fraud on your facebook or google ads. same operators run both. if you've noticed weird ad spend with no conversions in the last month AND fraud orders, it's almost always connected. worth checking your ads manager for unusual click patterns around the same dates the fraud orders started.

quick check you can do today. open your woo orders list, filter by failed payments in the last 30 days. if you see clusters of small failed amounts at unusual hours from similar email patterns, you're being tested. time to add the network layer before your processor flags you.

anyway, hope this saves someone a payment gateway ban. happy to answer questions if anyone's seeing weird patterns in their store.

How safe is it to add CHATGPT generated code into a snippet plugin to change some of WooCommerce functionality?

I'd like to hide prices on product pages, cart and checkout as well as automatic e-mail only for certain product categories.
ChatGpt generated a code snippet (I used long thinking to make the code more effective) which works fine and does exactly what I want.
Are there any safety concerns?

Where to get free help with Problems with WooCommerce

If you run into any issues with WooCommerce here's where you can go for help with no cost. Do not Google with any issues because the first answer to any issue is almost always incorrect. Use the following.

  1. Youtube Great for seeing what to do and following along. Search for your problem.

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=woocommerce

  1. WordPress, WooCommerce Tips and Help Zone (Facebook group will need a Facebook account). Ask your question. Lots of people who know WooCommerce really well here.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/682521111785593/

  1. Woo's Frequently Asked Questions. I would at least look over this and then refer to it when needed.

https://woocommerce.com/document/frequently-asked-questions/

  1. WooCommerce self-service guide

https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-self-service-guide/

  1. [WooCommerce] Support Can be a mixed bag. Sometimes you will get the answer you need right away other times no will we respond to you or it take a few days to respond to you. Sometimes they are very unhelpful. Asking questions during the day is better. BEST USED FOR Search for your problem first before asking a question. (Need Account to ask questions)

https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce/

  1. AI (If you are ok with AI). It's a good to give them a list of any plugins you are using and any changes you have made before trying to get code from them. Just a warning on using AI they are not perfect and you may have to try multi codes before success. WPCode Lite is a good Plugin for adding code (The free version is good enough). You can also ask them questions.

Anyone using FunnelKit here? Might be worth checking your checkout settings

read about the FunnelKit issue today and thought I should share it here since a lot of WooCommerce stores use it for checkout pages.

The attack was hiding inside what looked like normal analytics/GTM code on checkout, so honestly easy to miss if someone is just quickly reviewing scripts/settings.

If anyone here is using FunnelKit, maybe worth checking:

  • external scripts section
  • checkout settings
  • unknown scripts/snippets
  • pending plugin updates

Feels like WooCommerce maintenance has become stressful lately 😅

Update plugins → something breaks
Don’t update plugins → security problems show up

Anyone already checked their store after this?

Anyone using WooCommerce for Claude on a production store yet?

WooCommerce dropped two posts in the last week worth knowing about if you've been curious about hooking Claude up to a Woo store.

May 7: they shipped "WooCommerce for Claude," an experimental plugin from their Radical Speed Month.

It does two interesting things:

  • analytics skills with pre-aggregated answers to merchant questions like "how did my store do this week," "what's driving sales," "are my coupons working."
  • a knowledge layer exposing store profile, catalog schema, policies, and enriched product data as MCP resources, so Claude has context before making a tool call.

May 14: they followed up with 18 prebuilt slash-command workflows on top of that, each built around a real merchant question and returning a readout with next actions.

What I'm curious about: has anyone tried this against a production store, or are people still in test mostly? And for those who have, what's been useful in actually running a store?

How do you get your first real installs and reviews for a brand new WordPress plugin?

Hey everyone,

I launched my first WooCommerce plugin about a week ago and I'm running into the classic chicken-and-egg problem.

To rank on WordPress.org you need installs and reviews. But to get installs and reviews you need to rank on WordPress.org.

I've been trying to get genuine feedback from real store owners but it's harder than I expected. I'm happy to give free Pro access to anyone willing to genuinely try it and share their honest experience — good or bad — but I'm not sure where the right place to even make that offer is without it coming across as spammy.

For those of you who have launched plugins before:

— How did you get your first 10-20 installs? — Where did you find people willing to genuinely test and review? — Is offering free Pro access in exchange for honest feedback considered okay or does that cross a line?

Any advice from people who've been through this would be genuinely appreciated. Happy to share more about the plugin if anyone's curious.

Problems with Rank Math - No Product Image for Google's

Hello everyone! I'm having an issue I can't seem to solve.

I have a WooCommerce product (Falcon Pro Gaming Lapdesk) with a product image set in WooCommerce. I'm using Rank Math SEO (free version) and it's generating a Product schema on my homepage, but the schema does NOT include the image field — so Google Merchant Center is flagging it as invalid.

I've been trying to get Claude's help, but keep being told to add an html snippet in the webpage of just the product image, but that ends up generating two different schemas and the one is still coming up as invalid.

Any insight is very much appreciated!
