This happened when I was about 4 years old, like the title says.

So, my mom had the ringtone VZW Airwaves on her Verizon Wireless phone (VZW). It was (and still is) very peppy-sounding and it makes you want to dance a bit. If any of you redditors have this ringtone, then you'll know what I'm talking about. She had this ringtone for years. I had always loved it as a little bitty girl, and I loved dancing to it. I still love it to this day.

Anyway, my mom always put her phone downstairs to charge overnight on top of our bookshelf next to the stairs, which was pretty convenient. It would just sit there and charge all night, wondering when my mom was going to wake up and turn it on. I just lay there silently sleeping, dreaming about nursery school and Disney Princesses, and talking to my stuffed animals (teaching them at my "school").

Suddenly, as we all settle into bed, I hear a faint ringing noise coming from downstairs. You guessed it - it was VZW Airwaves. My mom and I have canine hearing, and my dad was asleep, so I'm pretty sure he didn't hear anything that was going on. I immediately woke up and told my mom all about it. She said not to worry about it and that I should go back to bed. It was probably just a spam call.

Reassured, I hop back into my bed, and I try to fall back asleep. About 10 or 15 minutes later, I hear the phone ringing AGAIN. I jumped out of bed and listened. This time, it seemed like the noise was a little bit closer to the room. That was a little freaky. Why would it sound like it was coming closer to us?

I'm trying my hardest to fall asleep now, trying to think of relaxing things, like sleeping on a cloud or playing a game. It really didn't work. Minutes later, I hear this phone ringing for the third time. Frustrated and a little creeped out, I wake up again. It sounded even closer that the second time it rang. It sounded like it was from across the hall.

It's ringing for an extra-long time now, and it won't stop. About 2 minutes later, I think it's worn out, and I finally get some rest. My mom is really creeped out by creepy stuff (duh). I'm not, but I don't tell her because I don't want her to freak out and panic all over the place.

I don't know why I just randomly decided to post this. I think I just had a weird dream about that whole incident last night, and I decided to put it all down on paper. Now that it's all written down, I feel a lot better. I mean, how would you feel if you had to hold in a creepy story for years and wait so long to write it down because of a dream you had of the incident? I'm still freaked out by it to this day, and I hope nothing like that will ever happen again. All my mom knows is that it was probably a spam call in the middle of the night and some weirdo was trying to reach her in the middle of the night. But that's pretty much all she knows about it.

Do any of you have similar stories or any advice?

I’ve been getting messages from the same number for about a week now and they’ve gotten progressively more violent and malicious. Whoever this is knows my name, where I work and the school I attend and it’s really stressing me out. And before anyone says block the number this is the third time it’s happened and I’m almost certain it’s the same person. If anyone knows how to reverse search this number I’d strongly appreciate it.

I’ve had this number for 7/8 years. I ALWAYSS got texts that referred to me as the same name (I won’t say for privacy reasons) and I thought they were all scams until I logged into the GroupMe app with my number to find a bunch of chats this person had, with friends family and other government workers, and i am now reading through all of them and i’m completely mind boggled. So i just have access to all of this persons old messages. I’m also highly grossed out about what they were talking about LMAO but the group chats do date back to 2017 so.. (a year before I got my phone)

I’m not sure if this is just a quincedence or if it was on purpose please let me know

So yesterday my ex called me and then hung up. It was so random have no seen or heard from him in 7 months. It was probably just an accident but yesterday was the anniversary of when we started dating. So that fact made me more freaked. I went threw all the ways you could acidently call someone and it is verry hard unless your scrolling threw your past call log, and if it was due to that he would have to scroll threw 7 months of past calls and I know he isn’t doing that lmao. ( I don’t have his number saved, he’s blocked on my socials/ I don’t follow him)
Idk if I’m over thinking this or if he’s trying to mess with me idk

Woke me up. Was just some lady whispering "Travis? Travis?... I want Travis..." I told her she had the wrong number and hung up. Hope she found Travis.
