New Pullman Transit schedule is alarming

Pullman Transit just dropped their Fall 2026 schedule, and I have to wonder what happened to their budget because there are some pretty major service reductions. Here are the differences I noticed:

  • Absolutely no Sunday service.
  • ApartmentLand & Campus operate until 9 pm, but other than that, there is no service past 6:40 pm.
  • Wheat & Lentil are now Saturday and holidays only, and run 10:00 am to 5:30 pm.
  • Some detours in place due to Northwood Drive being closed.
  • The Spark is now a permanent Campus Route bus stop (yay!) (edit: Blue Route as well)

Question for the dudes 😹

Why do some of y’all leave the dorm door wide open when having conversations with your roommate? I’ve noticed some guys doing that on my floor. I’m not bothered by it at all, I just find it funny as well as a little strange so I was wondering about if there’s some kind of reason for it. Is this a common thing?

PSA to freshman: Even if you're not into sports grab some folks from the dorm and go to some games. Think of it more as a social-event than a sporting-event. It's a great way to get to know your dorm-mates!

Go check out a volleyball match, soccer, there's more than just football! You'll be very surprised how fun it is to just get out with people and try something new. Even if you're not interested in the sport. It's a great way to meet people and make friends.

Thoughts on enrolling as an out-of-state student?

I just got accepted for Fall 2027 through Early Instant Decision Day. The NPC says I'm expected to pay $34,000 per year as my GPA is high enough to get the WUE award. Is it worth it? I currently live in Hawaii and want to move to the mainland, and my intended major is civil engineering. I've heard good things about the program but I'd figure I'd get some more insight

Dorm threw away friend’s things

Hi there! So I’ve got a friend that used the over summer storage in the Stephenson east dorm and just got back here only to find out that they threw away all of their things without notifying them at all. According to the RED they aren’t supposed to throw away anyone’s things without notification in a 60 day period but I can’t find anything official on the housing website. Planning on calling the dean’s office to try and see if they can get compensation for the damages because the contents of both boxes easily totaled up to over several hundred dollars worth of winter clothes that they cannot afford to replace. Does anyone have any resources or advice for what should be done? They said that last time they were in the storage area they saw several boxes that were SEVERAL years old so it makes very little sense as to why they would’ve thrown away their things so quickly.

Tip for students in dorms w/o AC

After ~8 pm when the outside air gets below 75 and dropping, open your window and put a fan against it so its sucking in outside air. Also open your door if you can until you're room gets to a cool temp. I got my dorm down to 70 degrees by 11 pm doing this

Incoming Freshman mama, humbly requesting tuition/scholarship info

Out of stater here and first timer with a kiddo in college. Kiddo was awarded the Distinguished Coug Award, the Journey to WSU award and the Top Scholars NR tuition Waiver…..We see those awards in her portal…..however, they appear to not have come off the balance due. Is this normal? It’s 9 days before school starts, so I just didn’t want to leave her here with things undone. Wondering if I’m misunderstanding something or if they just do t post to the balance until school starts or something. Thank you!

The pullman DOL licensing office is closed, so the van is pulling up but there’s no licenses or skills test.

I'm required to take a public speaking course but I have a severe stutter; what should I do?

I know there's accommodations, but I'm not sure how I'm supposed to receive a fair grade for a class which is based on speaking if my disability prevents that. It wouldn't be fair to fail me because that would be discrimination based off a disability, but it wouldn't be fair to the other students if they automatically pass me

So much to do, so much to see! The Aug. 14-17 paint map is here!

The maps start coming and they don’t stop coming. So much to do, so much to see, so perhaps consider taking the backstreets? Or whatever Smash Mouth said.

It’s WSU Pullman’s Move-In weekend for the Cougs and its Bass Canyon weekend for the ravers. We’ve got some road work y’all should know about. The I-90 Vantage Bridge is still reduced one lane in both directions, so leave early, consider alternate routes and expect delays. To the Cougs, safe travels to Pullman! To the rave babies, safe travels to the Gorge!

Westsiders! We’ve got a busy weekend of sports, fairs, concerts and closures up ahead. Whether you’re headed into town, out of town, or just attempting to get around town, here are a few things to know:

- We’ve got the ongoing Revive I-5 work over the Ship Canal Bridge. The express lanes are northbound 24/7.

- NB SR 99 will CLOSE at the 1st Ave S Bridge from 5a Sat. to 11:59p Sun. for bridge and structure preservation. During this closure you will not be able to access E Marginal Way or Michigan St. from the bridge or continue NB on SR 99.

- The SR 99 tunnel will also CLOSE in both directions in Seattle from 10p Fri. to 6a Sat. for tunnel maintenance.

- NE 85th St and I-405 ramps will close between 6th St and 124th Ave NE from 10p Fri. to 5a Mon. to grade pavement and install curbs. Ramp closure details:the NB & SB I-405 on- and off-ramps at Exit 18 will close.

Ferry riders, you’re part of the busy weekend too! Expect more travelers on the Anacortes/San Juan Islands route as people head to and from the San Juan County Fair through Aug. 16. Plan for delays and long lines, especially for interisland travel.

Then, starting at 6a Mon, Aug. 17, SR 20 near Campbell Lake Road will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic 24/7 thru Sept. 4 while crews prepare for a new roundabout. The work is on a key route between Anacortes and Whidbey Island, so ferry travelers should plan for additional travel time.

So before you get your game on and go play, check the real-time travel map, give yourself extra time and make a plan. You’ll never know if you don’t go, but you’ll have a better idea of what you’re getting into if you check the map first.

Northside Dorm

I have been researching WSU for colleges and I was wondering if it was easy or common to get accepted to Northside dorm with a semi or private without being an athlete or in honors. I don’t want to get my hopes up but i would want to live there the most. I know they do lottery system but if y’all know of anyone who got their first choice as a freshman. Let me know please!!

Fall 2027 start date for freshmen

Hi everyone-
My daughter is going into her senior year of high school. She is hoping to get into the direct admit nursing program. She would start fall of 2027.
Can anyone tell me what day she will need to be on campus? We are trying to schedule a family trip in August 2027 but can’t do that until we know when she needs to be at school.
Thanks!
