A Message from the Mod Team

Hello everyone,

As the moderator of this subreddit, I want to address something that’s been causing confusion lately and affecting the visibility of your posts.

Please use the full, proper or at least a relevant name for the — “Xbox Elite Series 2” when making posts or comments.

Abbreviations like “S2”, “Xbox Controller 2”, or other vague shortcuts make it hard for people to find your topics.

The biggest reason for this rule is global searchability. When someone outside our community searches Google, Bing, or another search engine for “Xbox Elite Series 2” + their issue, they should easily find discussions that fits their topic here on Reddit. If posts only use “S2” or similar shorthand, those threads become nearly invisible to the wider internet. This hurts everyone who needs help or wants to share information.

Starting now, posts and titles that use names too far from the actual product name may be removed.

We’re not trying to be strict for the sake of it — this is purely to make the subreddit more helpful and accessible to current and future Xbox Elite Series 2 owners.

Thank you for understanding and helping keep this community well-organized and easy to find. Your cooperation makes a big difference!

If you have any questions about this, feel free to reply below.

Warranty repair help - Xbox Elite Series 2 controller

I sent in my 6 month old Xbox Elite Series 2 controller for repair under warranty and received it back still broken. The issue is the controller won't turn on. The repair center said the controller works, didn't make any repairs, and now I can't submit another repair request.

It seems impossible to get ahold of a person at Microsoft to get this resolved. Any advise?

Current issue with the controller:

The controller usually does not turn on. Like 99 out of 100 times it won't turn on.

I can turn it on when I place the controller on the charging dock. Once the controller is on I can take it off the dock and it works fine wirelessly. Before I sent the controller in it would also work wired (after the controller was turned on when on the dock) but now it doesn't. Plugging in a usb-c cable does not turn the controller on.

Sometimes the controller goes into a weird bugged out mode when I try turning it on where the LEDs on the controller are super dim and flash. The left trigger acts as if it is constantly pressed. As far as I can tell it will just stay in this weird mode unless I place it on the charging dock and then it seems to work fine.
