never thought i'd be saying this but is an alternative app to ypt that matches its simplicity but lets me use my allowed apps (i've already re-downloaded it four times)?

the title is pretty self-explanatory and im honestly really upset that it has come to this because i've been compulsively tracking my studying for a year now but alas 😞

Desktop version might be real.

Im just an average developer, and I've seen the demand for the desktop version

If I get enough support i could re engineer YPT, and make a desktop version for you all.

Any other developers interested in helping me (if i do work on this) can lmk in the comments

YPT Is Slowly Becoming More “Fancy” Than Productive

YPT became popular because it was simple, focused, and genuinely useful for students trying to study seriously.

But lately the app direction feels different.

Now we’re getting:
- Sticker packs - new update
- Themes
- Fancy cosmetic features
- More social/app-like customization

The app originally felt like a disciplined productivity tool.

Now it increasingly feels like developers are trying to make it look cute/fun to attract younger users and increase engagement.

Not every productivity app needs to become a social-media-style experience.

Many of us liked YPT precisely because it was minimal and serious.

Anyone else feeling this shift?

Can we petition for desktop Ypt?

I’m a controll freak, I literally haven’t been studying just because I want THIS pomodoro timer instead of others 😭
Is there a way we can somehow get the developers to actually start this? I’ve tried emulators, and all shit but my windows laptop aong capable of handling it

Do you keep on the Timer when you are giving a test or solving MCQ/Qns.

I usually don't on ypt timer when im solving MCQ or giving a test. Should I? What do you do?

is there a way to manually add hours without it not going to ur total study time?

Sometimes i’m studying and i forget to press record, but when I manually add my hours, it doesn’t get added up to my total study time and it sucks.
