Does anyone else think this character is kind of... odd?

Does anyone else think this character is kind of... odd?

Not him as a person, I mean, but his entire role. He shows up kind of out of nowhere near the end of the story, reveals he's Haesol's long lost brother, and suddenly the whole manhwa revolves around him and getting Haesol to accept he's her brother. Haesol keeps harshly rejecting him and maintains she doesn't need or want a brother, but then randomly gets her childhood memories back and instantly cares about him. And it's like... oookay? I don't really get why any of this happened. Because Haesol needed someone to care about who isn't Yeonwoo? But she already has Nari and Jinwoo! I have nothing against Haesoo as a character, I just don't really understand why any of this happened. As much as I like the manhwa, I kinda wish the final arc had been about something else, to be honest!

I've read this story 3 TIMES NOW! BRO WHY AREN'T THERE ANY OTHER GOOD RR ROMANCEE! I'M CRASHING OUTT! Ihope Esol makes another role reversal mann😭🙏

3 years, I've been looking for a DAMN STORY LIKE YEONWOO'S INNOCENCE BUT NOTHING COME CLOSE TO THIS! I'VE TRAVELLED THE SEAVEN SEAS ONLY TO BE LEFT WITH DISAPPOINTMENT! MOST OF THE OTHER RR STORIES ARE JUST TYPIVAL STRAIGHT ROMANCES WHERE THE ML IS SLIGHTLY, SLIGHTLY! FEMM😭

AND THE FL IN MOST CASES IS STILL A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS (It can be done right but most stories barely ever get it right)

I will treasure YEONWOO'S INNOCENCE TILL THE REST OF MY LIFE!

a love that, with the passage of time, becomes an obsession

Dear Yeonwoo: I know you’ve been angry with me since we fought at the theater—we haven't seen each other since then, and...

I miss you. I miss your voice, your face, your strawberry scent. I miss those happy moments when you smile—that’s what I love about you—and the chocolate you’d eat when you were sad, and the gifts. I’m sorry I was so attached to Jong Jinwoo the whole time; Junhyuk was right, I was in the wrong. I hurt you. If I had realized our hearts were drifting apart, I would have kept them together. I’m sorry, please...

-Sincerely, Haesol

I don't get the cross dressing thing

Spoilers obviously

I read the whole thing in like two days.i had my gripes but the fact I binge read it is enough that I really liked the series by the end.

The only thing really bugging me is yeonwoo and the play where he has to play a girl.

Is this some "take control of your life/trauma" thing going on here or did I miss something? Because back when his classmates first made him do that he was Suuuuuuper uncomfortable. And then later when we saw the extent of his bullying it made even more sense as why the girl comments really bug him.

I get he liked when he used to do plays and wants that feeling again, but playing the female lead feels like it clashes with what he went through.
