Can someone check my math or go into practice tool? Ghouls AOE resistances might be bugged.

I think they're taking 100% damage from AOE... 3 ticks+stride would kill if I'm right. There shouldn't be enough AOE in this clip even with 4 ult ticks to clear the ghoul.

what did the rework do

i used to play yorick a couple years back but now coming back to him i feel really weak. it feels like my zombies do 0, get instakilled and barely get any hits. my q does good dmg but it feels like i scale like shit so even if i have 200 kills i can't really carry. i checked the patch notes for the rework and it seemed like a lot of random changes, i don't really understand where they put his power.

can anybody give me a rundown on what are yorick's strengths and weaknesses now compared to pre rework? i tried both lethality and bruiser lethality feels extremely inconsistent sometimes doing insane dmg where i kill with e q and sometimes doing nothing when 1 smolder q one shots all my zombies, and bruiser feels like it doesn't do anything late.

Tell me why Voltaic Cyclosword is recommended

I’ve built this item a few times now thinking the damage + ghoul combo would be great, but this item feels like a bait after reviewing its damage post game .

on paper, great for all in potential and the stats aren’t bad, but anything without health also feels so bad for ghoul sustain

my thoughts on yorick

I've been playing yorick for 2-3 years, I have 938k mastery points. But today I've had enough because I may just have bad days but I simply can't win even against easy enemies. In my opinion, yorick is almost as bad now as it was when the lethality rework was. I may just have bad days but I'm starting to get bored and it's not funny anymore. I really don't want to leave yorick there.

It seems that riot only cares about other champions and they don't even look at yorick's situation. It's a good fact that there was a "buff" by Black Cleaver but they are already changing it because of smolder. So yeah, I hope riot does something good for us someday

this is good for us right?

since they already patched the cleaver interaction, this will be nice for giving yorick a bit more mixed damage. is it still worth building after the damage nerfs though?

Yorick Help

Hi Yorick mains,

I admit, I completely hate facing your champion but with all the ranged champs being picked in top, I'm seriously considering picking him up as a niche counterpick into ranged top.

I had a few questions:

- What runes and builds is everyone doing?

- Are there any ranged top matchups that he should avoid? How is he vs Vayne, Varus, Quinn, and mages?

- Who are some of the non ranged matchups he beats pretty hard that I can pick him into?

Really appreciate everyone's help, I've given him a few games and he felt pretty intuitive but if anyone has any tips and tricks, let me know as well. With the current top meta, I think Yorick stonks have gone way up.

I have literally done the math. Lethality Yorick is not as bad as you think.

I added the spoiler tag because I'm actively formatting a spreadsheet to describe my findings.

Do not misinterpret my post to claim Lethality is as good as it was - it is not; however, when you compare level 20 Yorick to level 18 old Yorick against an average level 18 ADC who has ~110 armor a 4 stacked E deals 24.5 (49 total) less damage.

I believe it is fair to compare the new level 20 to the old level 18 as the top lane quest also grants significant bonus XP, so realistically you're hitting those level-spikes around the same time. Further, levels 5-9 ghouls deal more base damage without considering the armor shred of E. In other words: significantly better early game, slightly weaker mid-game, much weaker mid to late game, slightly weaker true late game.

I believe the real reason Lethality is significantly weaker is the ghoul's effective HP vs AOE is tremendously lower. Also, once Yorick builds % pen in the form of Grudge or Cleaver, then the damage gap would increase. However, if you can manage to land a 4 stack on an ADC without them clearing the ghouls with a single Caitlyn Q, then the damage is mathematically comparable. Obviously, when the ghouls are getting cleared by a single Caitlyn Q, then the damage is no longer comparable.

I think Riot accepted that Lethality builds on Yorick would be trash in 2025 because they knew the top lane quest was coming in 2026, so they basically balanced him around this season and let the build die last season.

I think especially with profane hydra only costing 2850G this season, lethality is not AS bad as once believed. Given the literal increased ghoul damage and Yorick priority levels 1-9, snowballing should be easier. Play aggressively early to snowball if you want to go lethality. Don't sit back and try to AFK scale.

When do yorick minions die from one hit?

I read on this forum somewhere that every champion kills Yorick's ghouls with one hit.
But I just had a game, where opponent picked Yorick, I picked Chogath. The ghouls needed 2 hits starting from like level 3 or so. I vaguely remember that with Fiora you also need at least 2 hits to kill the minions.

So what is the actual state of this? Did they change Yorick since that post 3 years ago?

Note: I am definitely not a Yorick main, extremely casual Yorick player here.

Yorick´s ghouls chasing and ignoring minions?

Hey! Yesterday this happened to me, is this a bug or it is suppose to happen?

Ghouls are chasing me, with only one close, and they gain so much MS and start ignoring minions while the one ghoul close to me actually target minions.

Why they win all that MS? Can be an interaction with yorick hitting Qs and activating any item?

EDIT: Yorick had he had serylda, eclipse, thornmail and spirit visage.

Thanks for the help!

why DID they do that to jungle yorick?

surely if you were designing a midscope for a champion and you saw that a lot of the playerbase has been running jungle, you would just stabilize him in that role. was it really impossible to balance him between top and jungle effectively?

Its been done before with champs like zyra morgana brand etc where they are just adjusted to work in both lanes and became stable picks. yorick works very similarly in that he farms exceptionally at the cost of poor gank setup. especially considering that most of the jungle nerfs bled directly into yoricks effectiveness as a lane pick, and removed a lot of what players enjoyed about him AS a top laner. I guess they were worried about it becoming too good after the q changes?

Im genuinely curious what differentiates him from a balance perspective that they had to nerf it like 5 consecutive times even after it fell below a good winrate. personally i would love to see them bring it back in a future update, I found it a really fun and refreshing way to play the champion.

Who is a simple champion that counters yorick?

Morde and Irelia are out, who else is good/decent? My 2 main champions are Urgot and Illaoi, both unplayable vs yorick
