Would you stay in Lee Vining or Mariposa?

I originally reserved out lodging in Maripose for Yosemite this weekend. I just saw that Tioga Road opened last weekend for vehicles. Should we cancel our booking and stay in Lee Vining instead? We will be arriving from Sequia National Park.

Tent camping - Best spots that doesn’t feel like a RV park

Any good areas in or near Yosemite for tent camping that actually feel like you’re in the woods? We’d be fine with a short drive or hike into the Valley/National Park — probably up to ~30 minutes away. Mainly trying to avoid the packed RV/trailer park type campgrounds.

I’ve heard there’s a lot of free/dispersed camping near Yosemite too. What spots have y’all stayed at or recommend?
