Regarding Sony Music's catalog removal from Yousician

We have been engaged in licensing renewal negotiations with Sony Music for some time and in spite of our best efforts, were not presented with a viable way forward.

No one is more gutted at having those iconic songs removed from our catalog. It was never our intention or plan. We remain committed to bringing and keeping as many songs on Yousician as possible, but the reality of the licensing landscape is that this does not solely depend on our own willingness or good intentions.

If you just renewed your subscription (14 days or less) because of those songs and would like a refund, we absolutely understand. Please send us a DM and we will process it. If you have an ongoing subscription, we remain committed to honouring your trust and preference by continuing to release as many beloved songs and requested features as possible.

In the immortal words of Led Zeppelin: Good times, bad times.

We are beyond grateful to share this journey with a crew as passionate, loyal and plain out rock and roll amazing as you.

They Removed TOO MUCH Rock/Metal'ish Bands + Bowie and Abba.

It is no exaggeration to say that half of the metal and similar-sounding rock music has been removed + Bowie and Abba. Like look at this List and tell me that we can still learn popular and some of my Favourite bands.

  • Slipknot
  • Three Days Grace (whyyyyy)
  • ABBA
  • David Bowie
  • System of a Down
  • Avenged Sevenfold ( My fav 😢)

Yes. i know that there are a lot more. It's Just these are the ones that hurt me the most
Does anyone have any Recommendation? I know that skillet is still there so maybe some other Cool bands are to be found
(feel free to what other bands where removed)

(Some grammar Mistakes are to be found. Sorry)

Songs disappearing out of the blue (ABBA) is not acceptable

Today ABBA's whole catalogue but Chiquitita disappeared in my location.

This annoys me quite a bit. I planned yesterday to learn Waterloo, Dancing Queen and The Winner Takes It All in multiple instruments so that a person close to me could sing some of those songs on top of that.

I managed to learn and record bass for Waterloo in the morning. Then practiced the piano version (which I had already some time ago). Then decided to have a proper break before trying to record 100% tempo take (using a DAW). But when I got back, I noticed that I couldn't find the song in your website. That was weird. Okay, then got back to the ipad, and the song had vanished from there also. What? In the middle of the day (licensing is location based afaik).

I get that you have business reasons to uphold licenses, but you just cannot do this abrupt deletion, because people plan for learning a song and record it and share it to others.

To have bare minimum standard, could you at least announce when a song is going to be removed?

As a feature request, could you show the beats per minute information in the song, please? So I don't need to get it from you website. I need that to record midi instrument at proper tempo.

David Bowie Deletions?

Have been enjoying all the Bowie additions to the app in the last few months. When I come to log in and practice I see that all bar three have been removed.

Just me or more wide spread? Would be usual for rights to lapse as the majority were added within the last few months.

How can i make it stop glitching.

It’s becoming almost impossible to gold star long song sections. Yousician glitches/stutters/ momentarily stops. Any tips to fix this. With slow/easy songs i can often pause in time to prevent failure, but with fast stuff i cant.
I’m running it on an iPad, with USB from Fender Mustang GTX amp.
iPad is 10th generation running ios 26.5
Does anyone else have this problem.

Qol improvements

I have been using Yousician for guitar for several years now and I still love it, but all this time I had several wishes I hoped it would be implemented sooner or later:

- Let me hear my guitar outside the songs. Why do I hear my guitar only within the songs?

- Remember the options settings in practice mode. Everytime when I practice a part I have to go to options and e.g. enable the option 'Auto-adjust speed'

Dunno if Yousician employees are following here, but if so please consider the above suggestions.

Who the ^%#* is Julie-O?

It’s bad when you (or the AI) mispronounce the name that is clearly said in the song multiple times. Repeat after me

Me and Julio down by the school yard

🤦‍♂️

Yousician is on thin ice!!!

Your licensing is turning terrible. Metallica songs are a big reason people are here. AI overload on numerous new songs. New CEO or whoever made numerous empty promises. What is going on? Many people I know who play Yousician mutually agree your app is on the WRONG PATH!

Is it good for singing?

Hello!

I used Yousician a couple of years ago to start learning guitar, and it helped me tons.
I didn’t know anything about guitar before but I improved a lot in a very short amount of time (learning chords, strings, fingerpicking, timing, etc)

Now I want to start singing, and I have faith it will help me as much as playing guitar. But I do know singing can be a little more delicate to learn.
Sooo I was wondering, have any of you noticed improvement in your singing or is it not the right choice?

Thanks ahead :)
