Need to find transport from the Q to Yuma Int. Airport @ 2:45am on a weeknight. Suggestions?

Speaking with the front desk of the Q I have been told that Uber does not pick up from the Quechan Casino and that Lyft is much the same way. Further I am reading that taxis are very unreliable. I need to catch a flight out so I am trying to secure transport to make sure I dont miss my flight. Any suggestions from those of you in the know?

White object in the sky

Did anyone see the white object in the sky around 6:30pm, to the north of Winterhaven and Yuma?

I circled it in red.

Quechan Casino (Winter Haven, CA) — Heavy police presence pulling people over as they leave at 2-3 AM?

I know a lot of Yuma locals go to the Q, so figured I’d just post this to see what other people had to say.

At around 2:00 AM I was heading into the Quechan Casino in Winter Haven and noticed about 6 patrol vehicles staged near the stop sign right where you turn into the casino parking lot.

This was my first time trying out something new, I wanted to play the penny slots after the crowds left. A little more choice in what slots to play when the casino is empty.

As people were leaving, officers were peeling out and following them, pretty obvious they were looking for DUIs.

When I left at 3:00 AM, a CHP unit did the same thing to me. He peeled out, turned on his headlights, quickly caught up, and rode my bumper for about a mile as I merged onto I-8.

Luckily I don’t drink alcohol.

I wasn’t speeding or driving erratically, but having a cop peel out like that and then quickly catch up and ride my tail like that in the dark (especially right after leaving a casino) honestly felt more dangerous than anything. It created a really uncomfortable and potentially unsafe situation.

I knew what he was doing but I could see how someone would be watching their rear view mirror and swerve or make a mistake because they’re not looking forward.

Anyone know about any door repair or handyman services?

My door came off the hinges and the wood looks like it might need to be reinforced. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Crossing INTO Los Algadones

Last time I crossed, they asked me for a passport going INTO Mexico. Are they still doing that?

Coming back I always just used my ID and birth certificate, I have never had or needed z birth certificate.

Where do the Over 30 crowd meet? And hang out

For my millennials, who can’t hang out people from work. And are somewhere between starting over, with kids and a dose of arthritis. Where do you meet people? lol 😂

Asking for a friend, because the heat is rough and the summer heat is brutal. And dating apps are a dumpster fire, even just to make friends.

Visiting san Luis Mex?

It is my understanding that US citizens walking to San Luis Mex are asked for passports. Yeah I don't have one. Are there other alternatives? I only want to go for a few hours. I heard something about a daily pass or something can't remember.

Where do young people hang out?

Hi, I’m a 24F and I recently fully moved to Yuma and have 0 friends here. I don’t know where people around my age hang out, it seems like everywhere I go it’s either older adults that have families or seniors :(. I’m trying to meet people organically and not on apps.

I love film and music so I wonder if there are any clubs or something like that? I’m kind of more on the alternative side.

If people could just tell me where I could find people my age I would be super grateful.

Anyone interested in a local book club?

Hey everyone, I’m thinking of starting a book club here in Yuma. I looked on FB and couldn’t see any active ones. I’m wanting to start this to make new friends and find a community out here since it has been hard to find.

Just a little about myself. I’m a 36 year old male and I’ve lived in Yuma since 2012. I’m divorced with kids and work full time M-F. I love reading, and I read pretty much anything and everything. I just finished the most recent book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series and am reading the He Who Fights with Monsters series, and a few other books too.

Some of my favorite books are The Count of Monte Cristo, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, and Dune.

Anyways, my DMs are open, and I’d love to get a few people to get together maybe once or twice a month to talk about the book we’re reading and build a small community of readers. Also, just make some new friends and we can totally talk about more than just books. If you’re interested at all my DMs are open.
