The entire windshield cowl was rusted out, as well as a few spots in the roof. It's been a long, tedious process. I jumped in with 0 knowledge or experience in fabrication or body work and have just been winging it.

Anyone got a fix for this they sawed my rear floor pan to do a fuel pump instead of dropping the tank. The rubber crap underneath is hard to remove and I dont have the cash for dry ice.
I got a 300ZX about 5 years ago and it’s basically been sitting since then. I’m finally at a point where I want to start working on it and get it road worthy, but I’m honestly not sure where I should start or what I should prioritize first.
The two main issues I know of right now are that it’s blowing some whitish smoke when running, and the rear lights won’t turn off even when the car is off.
I know a car that’s been sitting this long probably needs a lot more than just fixing those two problems, so I’m looking for advice from people who know these cars. What would you check/replace first before really driving it? Any common Z31 problems I should look out for while I’m going through it?
Z31 1985 turbo analog auto.
Coolant temp not reading. Was intermittent for a sec but now it's all the way left. Bought a new sensor, it didn't help. Grounded sensor cable and the gauge moved fine. Not sure what to do next, no Teflon on the sensor. The old one had it tho. Any ideas?
Update on the 86 na to turbo conversion. I originally bought an 86 na car without doing to much research, and the car was pretty rusted out. I ended up buying a cheap 85 turbo with zero rust and a mint interior, but had a pretty vicious rod knock. I parted out the na and took that engine and put all the turbo parts on it, and after much time a set backs later I will be finally putting the engine back in next weekend. For anyone who has done the na to turbo stock conversion, is their any last minute advise or things I could be looking over? Any advise would be greatly appreciated, and i will update after putting the engine back in next weekend thanks!
Nothing shows up on my fuel pressure regulator and it smells very strong but not like burning oil. I’m thinking some sort of fueling issue but I’m not sure where to start. Fuel pump is priming but you can’t really hear it over the fridge in this video.
Recently upgraded to JWT s2 cams, 370cc injectors 225 lph pump, pallnet rail, and aeromotive fpr all running through microsquirt.
Hi! Recently I’ve really had the itch of getting into a project car and I’ve really fallen in love with the z31 from everything I’ve seen. I come from a bit of an electronic tinkering background but haven’t done too much on cars outside of changing fluids and brakes and simplier things like that. I’d love to learn more though and was hoping the z31 isn’t too miserable to learn on. I know aftermarket parts might be an issue but I’m curious to hear others experiences with working on it.

I’ve been just kinda watching this community for a while but here’s my first entry. My original hoses dryrotted away (so are the other connected oem hoses) and I would like to know where I could find a good genuine replacement, or some kind of way to make a hose fit properly…. I haven’t seen anyone ask this so i feel kinda sped asking….
