Has anyone ever got the problem? Most of my apps cannot run in the background anymore (adguard, life360, tiktok, etc.). I've turned on "allow background usage" and set it to "unrestricted" but the problem is still there

I've got a Zenfone 9 still works great, only issue is the lack of updates but had no plans to spend money on another phone any time soon.
This week felix, which runs on the Vodafone network, told me my phone is getting blocked from the network on a 27th October 2026.
This is because Australia has a requirement that every phone on the network must be able to call 000 over 4G/VoLTE. and apparently the fact it does support 4G/VoLTE and work isn't enough, it has to be confirmed by the manufacturer in writing.
Anyone else shopping for alternative options now?
I'll think i'll just port to the Telstra network at the end of my bill this month, but a new phone with a nice long update support would be nice next time.
