I began reading the za series a couple of days ago, book 1 meh book 2&3 got me HOOKED. now im questioning if it really matters to read the ruthless boy series because I just wanna see what ends up happening to Darcy and Tory but I love the world. writing style is not my favorite so let me know if its really necessary😫

I enjoy fantasy and I saw ZA has essentially a cult following/fandom (I mean 13k weekly visitors??? Ok I’ll hop on—)

I got 100 pages into Book 1 last summer and had to put it down. A year later (now) I’m like — okay, let’s try again. When I say I forced myself through this damn book. I partially read it and partially listened to it. When I’d listen to it, I’d find myself literally making faces with either “Why would you put that in there” or “Why would you write it like that????”

The story felt shallow, and not even written well. I can’t care for the incest jokes and I can’t get into the hot for teacher story line.

Overall book 1 felt juvenile and lackluster and poorly written. So now, 2 questions —

1. Am I just too old for the story?? I’m 27 and
2. What am I missing?!!!??? / Does it get better??

I'm currently reading Never Keep (book 1), I'm about 74% of the way through. So this might get explained somewhere in the next 2 books, but it's bugging me enough that I want someone to just tell me.

In ZA, they have all of the modern technology that we have. Phones, computers, internet, cars, etc. SOTZ clearly takes place after the events of ZA considering that there are statues of the twins in Never Keep, yet there seems to be zero technology and they're writing with quills and ink wells. Why??

Also, bonus points if you can explain/spoil why they have to wait until 21 to have their magic awakened, when I'm pretty sure its awakened at 18 in the world of ZA, even though they're all in Solaria.

I'm doing a reread and I just got to the part where >!caleb gives Tory a pep talk after being starcrossed with darius telling her to say fuck you and come back swinging at the stars and ugh he's my favorite.!<

I loved him and Tory's interactions throughout the previous books and >!their spicy scenes are some of my favorites. Sometimes I'm sad they didn't work out. I know they were not mean to be, but damn they could have been the yin and yang to each other. I mourn a love that we never got and wasn't meant to be but I relish the friendship that's blooming instead.!<

I'm really struggling. I just finished 6, and now I'm onto 7, but I'm feeling drained a little .. should I continue or have a break 🤔 someone just give me some advice and give me a push or not 🤣xxx

I read zodiac academy for the first time in March/ April, all series plus ruthless boy.
I’m too scared to read darkmore penitentiary and close this world…
But I can’t get over how amazing is everything! I just started the graphic audio and wow!!! I’m back in love with this series!!!

Tell me I am not the only one! And any recommendation to other series?

I read all of ZA and RB like two months ago. They still haunt me. I’m an avid reader, I really enjoyed Sins of the Zodiac but it was lacking the Solaria charm…. idk… but YO!!!! I just started Darkmore Penitentiary and OMG!!! BABY…. We are SOOOOOOOO back!!!! Why/How are these books so much fun???? like literal toe curling fu!?!? I just came to have a good time and boy, we are here!!!!! Im only 80 pages in and it feels like home. My twisted sisters, how I love you!!!!

SO I’m new here. Read a lot of series, loved a lot, hated some, struggled through a few. Zodiac Academy just might be the first I give up entirely on. I’m going to try and keep this brief and spoiler free.

I want the record to reflect that I FLEW through the first three of the series. Couldn’t put em down couldn’t stop and HAD to know what happened next. It also is a really interesting concept for someone who has been obsessed with things like Charmed, Buffy and Supernatural for their entire lives.

That is where the glowing review stops. As soon as I finished 3, I made the poor decision to dive into Ruthless Boys (Yanno, suggested reading order and all that nonsense). Hated it. The books looked and felt like a middle schooler wrote them and was printing them in their basement for a school project. It was insanely juvenile writing that, IMO, offers nothing.

Well I just finished 4 of the main series - I was nearing finishing it so I bought 5 and 6. After finishing 4 I really don’t think I can stomach reading another page. It is ALWAYS the same freaking thing with these people making the wrong choice, hurting people for hurtings sake. At least the tit for tat of the first three books was entertaining in its juvenile conduct (really, you’re all powerful magical creatures and you’re getting back at them with itching powder? Ok…..) after four though I’ve come to the conclusion that they’re all just immature jackasses and Solaria is probably screwed. Oh and I’m through four books (thousands of pages btw) and it’s Christmas of their first year? What the eff is that about!

Sorry, just needed to vent.

im almost at the end of book 6 the constant downward spiral is getting exhausting not in a “omg this book is making me suffer but i love it” but in a “again?🙄”
there is no balance tbh and it feels a little messy with all the subplots and stuff
does anyone feel the same way😭😭😭

Like I am so invested, but I genuinely hate Tory right now. And its purely because she's not doing what I want.

I totally understand why she hates Darius

Anyways! I'm enraged because its taking too long. My fault for reading a slow burn lowkey.

Okay so I made the core 8 characters (the twins, the Heirs, Geraldine and Orion) in Sims 4, currently have them all living in one big house together.

But I want some opinions - should I make each of the elemental houses + asteroid place or leave them all in a big ole mansion together?

Pros of making all the houses: I can add in Washer, Sophia, Xavier and a few others.

Cons: I’m not the best builder in Sims 😅

I’ve devoured the series in the past month, finished book 5 this morning and started book 6 this afternoon. Clearly, these authors are big on Murphy’s Law and I’m tired. Tory and Darius have already gone through so much and yet, here is another beastly obstacle thrown their way. It’s exhausting to read through all the despair. So my question is, do things get better? Is it worth it to continue reading because at this point, I just want Darius and Darcy to just leave Solaria and be happy as besties far, far away
