19f looking for friends, yes, generic title

Hi, you.

I’m going to try and keep this short, but sometimes I ramble a lot, sorry.

So, this is Diana, from Romania. Completely blind. I use the phone with something called a screen reader; it does what the name says, reads the screen. You can enable it in accessibility settings.

No question is offensive if you want to ask. Don’t worry.

I recently finished my freshman year of uni. Studying Romanian and English literature and linguistics. I also love and know other languages besides English. I speak some Spanish, Italian, a very low level of Portuguese, and I’m learning German and Turkish. Why? Well, my question is for you: why not? It’s fun. 🤣 (Yes, screen readers read emojis.)

Yes, you can send photos if you want; usually AI describes photos. Yes, I will show you how I look if you are curious. Though if you want to know if I’m a real person at some point and you want to video call, you’ll probably have to tell me how to hold the phone right if you want to see me.

If you are a Romanian person and you’re curious where I’m from, I don’t want to give too much away publicly, but I will say that I’m from Maramureş county.

Other hobbies include music, books, celebrity interviews (because I’m nosy), history — more wars than anything else, I don’t know why — and similar stuff.

I made this too long, so I will leave it at this, sorry.

PS: sorry if this came out as a wall of text, I’m not really sure how formatting works from mobile.

For people with overprotective/overbearing families, how do/did you handle them?

I understand that most of the time they have good intentions or might be misinformed or whatever, but still it’s frustrating to be infantilized and similar things. I have an easier time dealing with it from strangers rather than from relatives.
