Low Light when capturing content?!

What’s your go-to solution for capturing content in low-light environments?

I did two small events back-to-back where the clients only wanted audio and didn’t book lighting. Both rooms were pretty dim. I used my GoPro Hero 11 and Insta360 X3 from two different angles, but the footage was pretty disappointing... you could barely see the crowd once I started editing.

Do you use a particular camera or setup for low-light event footage? I’d prefer something discreet rather than adding a spotlight or light that draws attention to the camera.

[Rant] Was at the Bryant Park watch party last night. What I saw was embarrassing.

I was actually there so I want to share what I saw firsthand.

Inside the park the atmosphere was great, packed, loud, everything you'd want from a watch party. The loss hurt, 115-111, Spurs steal Game 3 at home. That stings for all of us.

But what happened outside the park on 42nd is something I can't just scroll past. People were destroying public property, brawling in the streets, jumping on police vehicles. I watched someone standing on top of a police car drinking and spitting. This was happening in real time right in front of me.

It escalated fast. Bus stop signs were getting ripped off poles, bottles were being thrown at officers. By the end of the night five NYPD officers were injured and 21 people were arrested, some charged with assault on a police officer. Spurs fans who came out to watch a basketball game also got caught up in the violence. That part really bothered me.

Got home and saw the videos spreading everywhere. What's wild is some of this started before the game even ended.

The city set this watch party up specifically because MSG was under tight security. It was a free event meant for the community. This is how that goodwill got repaid.

I'm a Knicks fan through and through. We're in the Finals for the first time in forever. I just genuinely don't understand how this falls under supporting this team. This isn't what we're about.

Game 4 is Wednesday. Let's be better than what happened last night.
