I've been working on this project for a couple of months and now is complete! I designed a Sanwa JLF compatible and travel-friendly arcade stick. My idea was to blend the portability of a leverless with the fun and feeling of a traditional arcade stick.

It's based on the waveshare RP2040 board and uses GP2040-CE firmware so its compatible with multiple consoles (I personally use it with PC only). It's also compatible with Haute42 keycaps, I implemented hotswap sockets so they are replaceable as well.

I also included a 2pin 5V port just in case you want to add some led strip :)

The idea behind the design is high customizability, so please feel free to ask if you have any idea in mind; the lever top, buttons, chassis & acrylic color can be customable :)

I've been working for a couple of months on this project and it's finally complete! It has surely been a really teaching experience, even if it looks quite simple on design haha

I travel a lot, and I also like fighting games so a common problem that I have is taking my arcade stick with me on a plane. I got a leverless to tackle this issue first but my ass got whooped so bad on fightcade that I really felt that I needed a solution to my problem. I wanted to see if something similar existed, just out of curiosity and, of course it exists, but either was too expensive or didn't match my style.

Anyway, here you have a couple of showcase photos and videos so you can have a better look of them. Building it is quite cheap once you have all the components (and a 3D printer haha) so feel free to reach out for any CAD file if you want to improve/print this by yourself. I'll also be selling them on Etsy, if you are interested please let me know.

I went for this design because it leaves a lot of freedom customization-wise, the top acrylic panel has a lot of room for any custom art, stickers (If this gets enough support maybe I could offer them in the future?), engravings, or even different acrylic colors; 3d printing also has the advantage that you can have custom frames too.

Anyways, for now I'm happy with my new build, since I am ready to kick some ass on VPN mode

Edit: It didn't cross my mind that this post would receive so much support from you guys, thank you for your kind words and feedback (they are always welcome 😁). Also, I noticed that a lot of you are interested in the "production files" of the build (such as PCB, CAD/STL and components list), so I was thinking on creating a GitHub repository so I could easily share them with you instead of replying each one individually. During the week my schedule is a little tight, so I'll try to make some time to have it as soon as I can. Do not worry, they are coming :)
