Hey everyone,

I’m looking for recommendations for both an intermediate soprano sax and an intermediate alto sax that won’t completely destroy my budget. I’ve been playing for a while and want something that’s a noticeable upgrade from a beginner/student horn, but I’m not really in the price range for high-end pro models yet.

I’d especially appreciate:

• Best value used models
• Reliable brands/models to look for
• Good options under roughly $1k–$2k (used or new)
• Anything to avoid

Right now I’ve been hearing a lot about Yamaha, Jean Paul, Jupiter, and some older Selmers, but I’d love opinions from people with actual experience.
