How do I change the resolution in HD?

Played FL back in the day, decided to come back to it again, but man this is such a killjoy. I give up. Help!

How do I change the resolution?! I installed it with the 0.7 setup with these selections:

  • Startup Screen Resolution: Remove Startup Screen
  • Logo Resolution: 1080p 16:9 - 1920x1080
  • Fix small text: No
  • Fix clipping with 16:9 planetscapes: Yes
  • Skip startup intros: No (wanted full immersion)
  • Apply Best Video Options: Yes
  • Display Mode: Borderless Windowed

None of the listed resolutions are relevant for me, so I picked the 1920 ones. I intended to play in either 1920x1080 or in 2500ish (Ultrawide) depending on what it looks like. But, my native resolution is 3840x1080 (yes, "super-ultrawide", like gluing two 1920 displays together without a bezel in the middle). And, it seems like I cannot change the resolution in any way. I tried using the options menu, I tried editing the config files like back in the day. Nothing works, it just keeps going back to my full native resolution no matter what I do.

How do I change the resolution around so I can figure out what looks best?

Bonus points:

When I launch, it's a phantom window (screenshot of my desktop with whatever I had open being visible in a frozen snapshot of the preview in Alt+Tab miniature view). I think I need to click into it and then hit ESC a few times, before the menu shows up. I'm assuming it's either related to the startup screen being disabled, and / or the videos trying to play... but not being able to play in the 3840 wide borderless window? Would that fix itself if I managed to launch it in 1920? Or is that a different issue?

Fonts seem to be all there and fine, correctly sized from what it seems like as well, but... they all just cut off before completing the words, like the "text fields" are too short. Is that also due to resolution, or what's going on there?

Here's what the menu looks like, with the text getting cut off... well, everywhere

How does the Air Control thing work? (0.9n)

I've got it installed, been a while of me going "I'll figure this out later" since it didn't seem to have any effect.

Now I look it up, and yeah, supposedly just WASD. But my pressing of any inputs still has no effect whatsoever while airborne. I can't prevent faceplanting when doing jumps, at all. Once the wheels leave the ground, I'm still subject to physics exclusively. Did the upgrade break or something?

[BUG] PC Database: Deletes wrong signal, move up/down skips, levels reset, ...! (0.9k)

TYPO! It's v0.9n, not k! Can't change title!

So yeah, Database on PC gets all wonky and deletes signals that I don't have selected, moving up or down skips slots, and in the process sometimes degrades a signal's level back to gray (Lvl 0)...

All my "purple star" separator bookmarks are copies of the exact same green signal, just with different names (note the timestamp on all of them, 07.17.13).

0:07 - the " ^ NEW ^ " signal (as in, "everything above this line is new, and didn't get sorted yet") shows the correct image and information for this. All other purple star signals are supposed to be this same one, just with a different name.

0:27 - trying to delete a signal, deletes another one in the slots below!

0:54 - the "Lv0" separator ("everything of Lvl 0 below has been sent in, anything above hasn't yet") is supposed to be such a copy of my separator signal, yet it shows an asteroid when selected.

0:56 - when being moved, it then jumps and skips a few slots, and its Level degrades to gray (Level 0).

I believe that may be the actually correct state of this particular signal, meaning the asteroid signal is Lvl0, and it's exactly where it is supposed to be in the list, but the names are all wrong.

There might be an offset in the index somewhere. Maybe this occurs after a certain amount of entries in the Database. I'm close to the magical 128 here, I think I had some more signals that I deleted off the top shortly before noticing these issues, so I may have gone above 128 and caused it?

One way or the other, I don't know how often I've already accidentally deleted something I didn't mean to, but chances are that number is higher than 0.

Reloading the game seems to re-initialize the list correctly. I don't know if rebooting the ingame PC would also do that, which would be hilarious, because if so, then the old IT support step 1 of "have you tried turning it off and on again" would also apply within the VotV universe. I'll try keeping an eye out to check this.

For now though, PSA: ALWAYS QUICKSAVE BEFORE USING DATABASE! Pay attention to what action happens, if anything goes sideways, simply reload the savegame.

EDIT: I also seem to have a gray, blank-name, 0001.01.01-00.00.00 signal at the bottom of my database list, at index 0... it does play, has static. Object unknown, Quality unknown, Frequency unknown, Size 0.0MB, Azimuth 394.24, Altitude 96.16, [NO_TEXT_DATA_DETECTED]... so, uh. Yeah. I don't know when that appeared. It doesn't seem to be causing any issues, though.

*ADDENDUM regarding AutoModerator:
Sorry, I have no interest in having a google account to fill out a google form to report bugs that way!

On making combat more fun... (Spoilers, I guess?) (0.9)

Molotovs against Boars are all good and fine, as is trying to hook them to keep bashing, but...

Hear me out:

Full speed. ATV. Jousting.

Make ATV collisions cause much more damage to Boars, with a balanced amount of damage dealt to the ATV so it's not discouraged to do. Upgrade it with engine, front bumper. Maybe add plow, spikes, something Mad Max style. Put the radio in, to blast heavy metal music as you play a game of chicken with the Boars.

Eh...?

How to prevent accidental carry of items? (0.9)

So I keep fumbling and accidentally pick up my drive racks.

  1. Why can't they attach to a wall by themselves? They have struts in the back that do make it seem like they would.

  2. Why doesn't nailing them (or anything else) to a wall, also prevent me from picking them up into carry? Cool, I can't move them around, but I also shouldn't be able to just pick something up that's nailed down. That was the one thing I was trying to accomplish with nailing it down.

Am I missing something?

Addendum!
3) What's up with the "Fix item in place" bind? Doesn't seem to actually do anything? I assumed it would, well, fix an item in place (disable gravity, grab, and carry on it) until you look at the item and hit the bind again? Did it break?

Are y'all responsible Broomba owners...? (0.9)

Just me, Larry, and my Broomba M-O. Way to clean the lot too, but mostly to keep your Broomba exercised and healthy. When did you last take yours for a walk...? Can you even remember?
