Stupidity is at an all time high
Hey, this is how propaganda works. I’ve seen the same kind of messaging from FANO, TPLF, OLA, and other political movements. They constantly portray the other side as less human, less worthy, or inherently evil. They all tell you some version of the same story. Anything to keep people divided and prevent them from seeing the humanity in each other.
👌
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that OSFNA allows non-Oromo players and is actually pretty inclusive when it comes to different players. Good for them.
It’s not only Ethiopia
A lot of Africa is dealing with the same economic problems in different ways. When you look at countries like Cameroon, Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana you start seeing a lot of the same issues. Low wages, inflation, unemployment, expensive imports and not enough opportunities for people to actually build a decent life. This is why I don’t think we should always look at Ethiopia’s problems like they are unique. There are definitely things that are specific to Ethiopia but there are also bigger economic problems affecting the whole continent one of the biggest causes of instability being tribalism. Something can look cheap compared to the US but still be very expensive for someone living there when their income is also much lower. The bigger issue is how do we create economies where regular people in Africa can actually earn enough to live comfortably and have a future.
Unless you bring Selassie back from the grave we Ethiopians don't want monarchy back. Is this FANO's end goal?
youtu.beInteresting
I had one of those random cultural surprises today. My Persian boyfriend referred to Europeans as Farang, and I just froze for a second because I always thought that was an Ethiopian word. 😂Turns out Persian has farang/farangi too, referring to Europeans or Westerners. I had no idea. It's fascinating how words travel across cultures.
The Cost of Leading a Resistant Society: Lessons from Haile Selassie and the Shah of Iran
Haile Selassie of Ethiopia and Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Iran were leaders who tried to modernize ancient civilizations through education, infrastructure, economic development, and stronger connections with the world while preserving their cultural identities.
Haile Selassie was overthrown in 1974 after growing dissatisfaction over poverty, famine, political inequality, and demands for reform. The Derg, a Marxist-Leninist military government, took power and brought years of repression and conflict.
The Shah of Iran was overthrown in 1979 after opposition grew over political repression, inequality, and rapid Western-style modernization that many felt excluded parts of society. The revolution eventually led to the establishment of the Islamic Republic.
Both leaders faced the difficulty of balancing modernization with social and political change. Their experiences show that progress requires not only vision, but also strong institutions, public trust, and inclusion.
My first memory as a kid of a doctor in Ethiopia was one hit me on the head and was annoyed when I couldn't relax to do the Wartenberg pendulum test.
pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.govI want to see Ethiopia in the World Cup
Ethiopian football possesses an extraordinary foundation of natural agility, speed, and technical flair. However, competing at the highest international levels and securing a historic FIFA World Cup qualification requires a rapid upgrade in tactical discipline, spatial efficiency, and transitional automation. To bridge this gap without the burden of massive infrastructure costs, it is highly recommended that the EFF introduce a Digital Tactical Simulation Framework across the youth and senior national team structures. By leveraging the spatial analytics, bird's-eye pattern recognition, and high-repetition decision models utilized in elite digital soccer environments, the federation can achieve the following:Automate the Final Third: Train players to instantly recognize and execute high-probability attacking sequences to unlock stubborn defensive low blocks.Standardize Defensive Distances: Use visual simulation mapping to establish strict spatial discipline within the backline, neutralizing physically larger opponents through superior positioning.Data-Driven Roster Profiling: Implement strict attribute matrixing to identify domestic and diaspora talent whose physical and technical metrics perfectly match modern tactical requirements.Adopting this visual, high-efficiency methodology will directly accelerate the tactical maturity of our players. Implementing an introductory, two-week video analysis pilot program with the youth national teams would provide a clear, risk-free demonstration of its immediate impact on player decision-making
