What would people (you, the person reading this) think if there was an option for pre-merge matches?
What if there was an option, maybe even permanent to play pre-merge or a pre-merge inspired gamemode with it's own tech tree setup, matchmaking, weapon stats, etc to simulate ww2 combat scenarios more accurately in terms of equipment? A separated gamemode not catered as much to balance but instead having occasional tigers in Tunisia, captured smgs as the primary weapon of almost all soldiers on the Eastern Front, maybe even more complex healing and health loss mechanics, etc. Personally I think pre-merge felt more like actual ww2 in terms of combat craziness and was fun to play even with the way it was at times. The game has just nowadays become one where every side must have a more or less equal edge at all times, spam is strategy but not in a realistic way, everything that was conceptualized during the war is in the hundreds on the battlefield, etc. The feeling of realistic match ups with only historical equipment edges and overcoming it by also historical strategy could be nice, but what opinions do you possess regarding this?

What I'd like to see for Germany and *why* (properly)
First one is the Me 262 armament suggestion. As bad as the CAS rep is in this game, I'd still prefer this over a single 500 kg bomb. Why? Well historically as an interceptor, the Me 262 was indeed fitted with 24 R4M rockets. 24 rockets may seem like a lot, but do consider the following:
German tech tree rockets:
Wfr.Gr.21 — TNT equivalent ~8.5-9.5 kg
Max rockets per plane — 4
Soviet Union tech tree rockets:
RBS-82 — TNT equivalent ~0.4 kg
Max rockets per plane — 8
RBS-132 — TNT equivalent ~1-1.35 kg
Max rockets per plane — 4
The USA + other Allies tech tree rockets:
M8 — TNT equivalent 2.31 kg
Max rockets per plane — 12
RP-3 — TNT equivalent 5.44 kg
Max rockets per plane — 8
HVAR — TNT equivalent 5.44 kg
Max rockets per plane — 10
Japan tech tree rockets:
Type 5 No.6 Mod.9 — 10 kg
Max rockets per plane — 2
As you can see, factions like Germany and the USA + other Allies (not counting the Soviet Union) have equal or greater for Allies total TNT mass per plane if counting all rockets from the plane with the most TNT mass total from the rockets. The issue is that in this game, throwing 8 of the weakest rockets on the list is better than 2 of the most powerful ones most of the time as you can target a larger area especially if there are obstacles blocking blast radius. Quantity can get you more than mass in a lot of cases.
Besides, going back to the jet armaments, Germany is already underequiped compared to Allied jets, even if the current one easily gets the job done whether it's a ground strike or dogfight, but the gap is still there.
The R4M rockets had a TNT equivalent of ~0.65-0.75 kg per rocket, so the total of 24 per plane would be ~16.8 kg, less than what 4 Wfr.Gr.21 rockets have (~36 kg) and also less than what others like 10 HVAR (35.4 kg) and 8 RP-3 (43.5 kg) have. Makes sense for air to air interceptor rockets. This would affect a few things.
- Subjective preference to rockets. I like rockets. Rockets are cool.
Now onto the next, probably even more controversial suggestion:
Tiger 2 10.5 cm
Yes, yes, paper project, but wouldn't be the first one at Enlisted. As for the issue about what this means for power levels it's actually quite similar:
Tiger II (H) vs Tiger II 10.5 cm
Armor — exactly the same
Main gun pen at distances to non-angled armor:
2 (H):
100 m — 234 mm
500 m — 222 mm
1000 m — 207 mm
2000 m — 180 mm
10.5 cm:
100 m — ~245-255 mm
500 m — ~235-245 mm
1000 m — ~220-230 mm
2000 m — ~190-205 mm
But the important thing why I'm suggesting it:
2 (H) HE TNT — ~0.9-1 kg
10.5 cm HE TNT — ~1.55 kg
I want my large HE rounds. Again, the Allies gets exactly this and bigger at mid and high BRs while Germany sticks to the 88. I don't care for the pen I care for my anti infantry options. I don't even need to compare this one every other faction has tech tree guns that have 100 mm+ barrels that carry very big HE shells. Also the 10.5 cm had a longer reload time due to primary ammo complexity.
That's the last ramble I got and nothing else. I should mention that I haven't researched past BR I tanks on any faction and also dislike grayzoners. I would just like my rockets as a plane main, and larger HE as a German main. Thank you.
Random propositions for German tech tree as a main-er
Jagdtiger. Why? Mostly because 3/4 nations have a tank in the free research tree that has a cannon with a caliber higher than 100 mm. Germany mostly sticks to 88 mm. This is mostly about the effect on mobile area control because of the HE shells, though this one was specifically meant to combat the biggest tanks.
24 R4M rockets for the ME 262. Why? Historically accurate due to the interceptor nature of the jet and also mild balanace as factions like the USA have HVAR on every other plane since br 2 and I love rockets and only get my max 4 wfr.gr.21 rockets on some mid-br plane </3.
Probably some balancing stuff to account for but I'd like to see more proper "best of the best" for Germany since it feels like the Allies have more variety and at times firepower too.
