Just Launched SAT Duels, a 1v1 competitive SAT prep (i will not promote)
Spent the last few months on this project with my friends and just shipped it. The whole thing just started from us realizing SAT prep is honestly just sooo boring: static practice tests, no time pressure, nothing that makes you want to keep going. So thats why we built SAT Duels: real-time 1v1 matches against other students, ELO matchmaking, timed questions that actually feel like the real thing, and force you to improve under time-stress.
Stack: React/Vite on Vercel, Node/Express on Railway, Supabase handling Postgres, Auth, and Realtime. Sourcing questions was probably the toughest part since CollegeBoard's actual questions are copyrighted, so we ended up piecing together open-source question banks and supplementing with some AI-generated/modified ones.
Right now we're small, a handful of users so far and the feedback's been mostly positive, but marketing is where I'm stuck. Trying a bunch of stuff and seeing what sticks. If anyone's got advice on early growth for something like this, genuinely would appreciate it.
Always open to feedback/criticism about the site too, happy to talk through any of it.
