I Don't Understand How Someone Would Ever Think to Do This

EDIT: I was fully aware that the lines are the same line when I was trying to solve the problem.

Hello! I was practicing for the Algebra portion of the SAT and stumbled upon this delightfully rage inducing question. The rationale given doesn't quite make sense to me. I don't see how anyone would think to solve for x first, especially when we usually want to put y in front (because of y = mx + b). Does anybody who has gotten a problem similar to this have any idea of how to approach this kind of thing in the future?

How is this C? I dont think any of the options are good

Like, I would look for a word similar to "speech" or "recount," but all of the options dont seem to match.

What are those new 143 RW questions ?

rn ı am solving the new questions in the CB Question Bank, and is it only me or the RW section much harder. While the Math questions seem normal, my accuracy on the new "hard" RW questions is like only 50%. On the older "hard" RW questions, I usually score 90–95%.

I’m an international student and English isn't my main language, so it migth just be me finding new passage and question styles more dificult, rather than the questions universally getting harder.

ı have some questions for tutors or any one experienced

  • Does this indicate a shift in difficulty and/or question style for the 2026-2027 exams?
  • What should I expect on the August 22 exam?
  • Historically, has the release of new CB practice questions signaled a change in the actual test?

need help as a beginner!

hi, im planning to sit the october SAT and ive only recently started studying for the SAT. it is not consistent and i got a 970 on a practice bluebook test aiming for a 1490+ by December (seems too aspirational atm). i keep seeing a bunch of ai slump websites and i dont really know where to move forward and if spending all my time on khan academy is worth it because im still new to most of the concepts worth learning for the SAT. so if anyone has any raw real advice, tips, resources that are worth the time and money (no external tutors would be better), i would really appreciate it! thank you so much

Does SAT now require webcamera and screensharing?

There are news that from fall 2026 SAT will require webcamera and screensharing to be turned on and that registered people already gave consent to it. Is this true?

Need some last minute advice from high scorers. I need at minimum a 1190.

I've done over 50 hours of tutoring this summer and couple practice tests. I'm a senior whose highest score so far is an 1140 super scored. Even after the hours of practice I still feel low in confidence. I can definitely tell my skills have improved but I keep downplaying myself by telling me that practices tests are easier than the real deal.

How similar is test 11 to the actual SAT?

I heard from most people that test 11 is the hardest of the blue book tests and that it is the most realistic to the SAT. I got a 1490 on this test and I just wanted to be able to compare. I am taking the August SAT which is in a few days and it’s my first SAT. Additionally, this was my first practice blue book SAT I’ve taken. Prior to this, I did participate in a prep academy which was around 7 weeks long and on the tests they gave us I got 1500+ but I found the score to not be super trustworthy because they reused questions from our lessons and the math portion overall was really easy compared to the math I’ve seen depicted elsewhere. So as this is my first practice test actually given by college board, I just wanted to know how much this would mean compared to the actual SAT.

Rhetorical synthesis questions changed

Is it true that Rhetorical synthesis -student notes- questions changed in a way that you SHOULD read the notes to answer it (not like before we used to read only the question most of the time)

I known in hard module its likely to be the case but what about the first module can i still use the strategy or read the points and consume time

Advice, please? I SWEAR I did everything alr

Hi, taking the SAT for the 2nd time this Saturday. Did these practice tests reflect ur actual scores, guys? 🥸 I took Practice Test 6 around 6 months ago and it reflected my April SAT score exactly (1320 Comp, though my Math is lower by 20 points and RW is higher by 20).

I really hate how this whole SAT thing is draining the shit out of me. I keep getting the Information and Ideas, Craft and Structure (esp. vocab), and last 6 Math questions wrong and idk what to do anymore tbh. Any tips?

is it bad to spam consecutive practice tests days before test day?

i did practice 4, 5, 6, and 7 so i only have 4 tests left. if im aiming for 1500-1550+ should i just keep doing the tests and reviewing mistakes or is that overkill

August and Recent Test Difficulty Spike

Hi everyone who is also cooked for August! I want to get a good score but since cb just dropped new questions, I lowk thought that the questions got harder. What do I need to get on Practice Tests so that I can do good on the actual test on Saturday and also, if you alr took the SAT recently, what have you noticed has changed and what was ur general impression of the test difficulty relative to any practice tests or resources. ANY AND ALL RESPONSES WILL BE APPRICIATED HEAVILY. Thx!

-Hopefully good scorer on the August SAT
