Worth Remembering - player notes and reputation
I watched Xaryu's "Mingle" saga and it really struck a chord with me, how cool it is to have memories spanning years with people. That said, I've got a terrible memory, lol. I checked out a good handful of addons that offer some means of keeping notes on players, but none of them did it quite to my liking, so I built Worth Remembering.
The addon allows you to make quick notes on players and/or assign them "reputation" changes (scale from -100 to +100). I tried to build it to be as unintrusive as possible during your normal gameplay, and as quick and easy as possible to assign notes to people (you can create your own presets for use in the quick-add menu shown in the screenshots, or you can use a macro to add that preset to a player without ever opening a window).
The hope is to keep things as streamlined as possible and still allow you to distinctly recall people weeks, months, or even years later. It captures the character you were on, what class and race the other player was, their faction, what level both you and the player were, where in the world you were when you saved the note, when you last saw them, etc. The "Details" tab functions as a sort of complete log of your interactions with an individual player.
It's already been pretty fun saving a note for someone that helped me when I was level 4, and then running across them in the world a week later and being able to thank them again for their help.
Uses only Bliz assets so it fits into Forever's classic-ish style well.
AI was used in building the addon (and the thumbnail, though I spent entirely too much time hand-tweaking that, lol), but I hope it won't fall into y'alls "slop" category. I'm a developer by trade, so hopefully some of the design thought that went into it carries over. I've spent quite a bit of time with it, and I'm still very actively working on it.
I am super open to bug reports, feature requests, suggestions, input, etc.
I'd love if y'all would give it a look.
Thanks!
